Jamaica stunned Guatemala 4:3 in the second game of 2005 CONCACAF Gold Cup? Group C at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California USA on Friday evening.
Jamaica (1-0-0, 3 Points) opened the scoring after just three minutes of play when Luton Shelton out-raced Guatemala's (0-1-0, 0 Points) Fredy Thompson for a long ball played into the box and he struck the ball first time into the bottom corner of the net for a 1:0 lead.

Just two minutes later, reggae boyz were given a gift when the chapines goalkeeper Luis Pedro Molina grossly misplayed a ball outside of his penalty area allowing Ricardo Fuller to walk in an empty net goal for a 2:0 advantage.

Following the goal, the entire Guatemalan team huddled together to try and regain their composure and the move paid off, and the chapines got on the board in the 11th minute with a penalty kick goal by Carlos Ruiz.

As if the opening minutes didn?t provide enough excitement, reggae boyz defender Claude Davis was sent off 25th minute for an excessive foul off the ball, reducing them to 10 men for the rest of the match.

Then, the first half ended just how it began, with both sides trading goals. First up was Jamaica earning a penalty kick of their own when Shelton was taken down at the edge of the area. Andy Williams buried his shot into the back of the net giving his side a two-goal cushion.

The lead was short lived however, as in first half stoppage time, Ruiz found net again, this time with a free header inside the area.

In the second half, Jermaine Hue found the mark for Jamaica in the 57th minute, beating Molina low to the back post with a driven shot from just inside 18 yards.

Ruiz completed his hat trick in the 87th minute when he scored his third goal of the night past Jamaican goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts to bring his side back to within a goal.

Guatemala desperately tried to get back into the game, and created the majority of scoring chances over the last half-hour, but was unable to draw any closer than Ruiz?s strike.
