The Brazilian teams had drawn the first leg of Latin America's premier club tournament 1-1 last week in the southern city of Porto Alegre, and Sao Paulo took advantage of the nearly 75,000 fans that packed its Morumbi stadium to clinch its first title in 12 years after a 5-1 aggregate score.

After the final whistle, Sao Paulo players jumped and celebrated at midfield, and coaches and teammates quickly rushed from the bench to join in.

Striker Amoroso put Sao Paulo on the scoreboard with a header from close range in the 16th minute. Defender Fabao added to Sao Paulo's lead with a firm header after a corner kick in the 52nd, sending the ball into the left upper corner.

Luizao, the career leading scorer among Brazilian players in the Libertadores with 28 goals, scored by hitting the open net from about 3 yards after a cross from Amoroso in the 70th.

Luizao, a member of Brazil's 2002 World Cup winning team, had also set up the play for the first goal with a back-heel pass to Danilo.

Substitute striker Diego Tardelli closed the scoring in the 90th with a right-footer from inside the area.
