Haiti became the second Caribbean nation to qualify to the men?s under-22 football tournament at the 2006 Central American & Caribbean (CAC) Games in Cartagena, Colombia, after winning the Caribbean Group 2 at the Larry Gomes Stadium in Malabar, Trinidad & Tobago this week.

Haiti (2-0-0, 6 Points) finished first in the qualifying group after defeating the host, Trinidad & Tobago (0-1-1, 1 Point) by a score of 3:1 in the final match on 4 April.

Rood Kelly Jean scored twice and Fritzson Jean Baptiste added another for the Haitians, while Shane Calderon had the only tally for the soca warriors in the loss. The remaining three Caribbean Group winners will join four qualifiers from the Central American Zone, Haiti, Mexico, Netherlands Antilles, Venezuela and the host Colombia in the 2006 Central American & Caribbean Games from 16-29
