I could not agree with you more guys. Haiti should be a sovereign country and the Law of the land should apply equally to all.
The problem is that we are all too willing to put the Constitution and the Laws aside when we want to accomplish our deeds and bring them back in when it's time to suffer the consequences or when it fits our political purposes.
What law gave Guy Philipe the right to form an insurgent group to overrun the Police, destroy state properties and cause the death of several people just because he did not like the way Aristide was running the country? One could make the argument that Aristide also violated the Constitution and deserved what happened to him. But the point is, the Constitution is not a light we can switch back and forth at our convenience.
I'm praying for a day when we will all thrive to respect the Law regardless on how it applies to us, I just don't think is starts with Guy Philipe's case.
