Haiti secures place at 2007 Gold Cup
15.1.07 - Haiti secured one of the four Caribbean places to the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup? after advancing to the semifinals of the Digicel Caribbean Cup with a 2:0 victory over Barbados in the Sedley Joseph Group on Monday at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago.
In the other group encounter on Monday, two goals by Kerry Baptiste and Gary Glasgow led Trinidad & Tobago (1-0-1, 4 Points) to a 5:1 win against Martinique (0-2-0, 0 Points).
The Final Round of the 2007 Digicel Caribbean Cup continues on Tuesday (16 January) with the Bobby Sookram Group at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium in Marabella, Trinidad & Tobago as Guadeloupe (1-0-0, 3 Points) takes on Guyana (0-1-0, 0 Points) at 17:00 and then Cuba (0-1-0, 0 Points) meets St. Vincent & The Grenadines (1-0-0, 3 Points) at 19:00.
At the conclusion of the group play on 18 January the top two teams will advance to the next round but also qualifying directly to the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup? from 6-24 June.
