AN INTERNATIONAL FEAST
WHAT: A community potluck for the Monahan-Morang family,
Freeport residents who have just adopted two children from
Haiti, aided by local fundraising efforts. The dinner is being held
so the family can thank the community and so everyone can
welcome 4-year-old James and 5-year-old Mica.
WHEN: Saturday, Sept. 29, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
WHERE: First Parish Church Congregational United Church of
Christ at 40 Main St. in Freeport.
WHAT TO BRING: A dish of food to share. Cuisine from Haiti,
China and Cambodia -- the countries where four of the family's
six children were born -- would be especially appreciated. No
gifts, please, but if anyone insists on helping, donations to help
defray the children's medical expenses would be gratefully
accepted.
