Profile of an Artful force in Atlanta Community through Jodine's Dorcé Corner

Jodine Dorcé might as well be a doctor because no one's fingers are on the pulse of the Atlanta art community more than hers. As a part-time businesswoman and full-time art lover, Dorcé is the publisher of the biweekly e-zine Jodine's Corner. More than 10,000 people subscribe to the e-zine for Dorcé's recommendations for the Atlanta art scene.

Dorcé's ambition for her efforts is twofold. She doesn't want to just help bring attention to deserving artists, she also wants to help fellow ATLiens explore and experience other sides of themselves through the art of others.

Although she doesn't consider herself an artist, she loves talking about them, as evidenced by her jobs as promoter, producer and radio host on WBCX-FM (89.1). She envisions becoming the Barbara Walters for artistic people.

In addition to her many art-related jobs, Dorcé works full time in human resources. The working world doesn't hamper her spirit, however. She considers herself perfectly balanced as a "cross between a corporate chick and an eclectic chick."

Dorcé has an extensive collection of Haitian art. Not only is it a tangible reminder of her heritage, Dorcé likes to introduce the art to others because it shows how much beauty can be found in the poorest parts of the Western Hemisphere.
