Reginald Bastien, most commonly known by his nickname ?Ti-Regi?, is a 24 year old musician who grew up in the neighborhood of Delmas 33 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
Ti Regi?s interest in music started when he was about 15 years old. It all began with a few piano lessons from his brother, and from there TiRegi built his skills through hard work and dedication without any further formal musical education. Presently, he is a keyboardist for Djakout Mizik, a full Compas band that?s delivering some of the most mature grooves on the market. Despite being one of the youngest members, TiRegi is contributing his fair share to the success of the band. Whether through his participation in stage shows during live performances or through his contributions during studio practice or recording cessions his influence is always felt.

Although he is mostly known as a keyboardist Ti Regi is also a very talented composer who has authored both the lyrics and music to several hit songs. While his creative input in Djakout?s fourth studio album (?La Familia?) was limited to his work on the popular track ?Yon Ti Konsey?, his imprint is all over the latest release titled ?Manniguéta?. A quick glance at the credits on the album cover will reveal that he has either written the lyrics, composed or contributed to the musical arrangement of 7 out of 9 songs on the album including such hits as ?Bizness Pam?, ?Love Me Girl?, ?Abandoné?, and ?Prekosyon?.

Driven by a deep-rooted desire to come up with the next hit sound Ti-Regi is always searching for new ideas. He reveals that the inspiration for most of his compositions came from everyday events and his own life experience. As far as he is concerned, any catchy slogan or peculiar incident can potential become material for a new song or musical partition. Ti-Regi refers to himself as a full-time musician who?s always thinking about music. His work so far has laid down the foundations for a promising musical career.
Prior to joining Djakout, Ti Regi briefly played with a band called Cocktail. His other experiences outside of Djakout include studio recordings with such artists as Jackito and Evens Jean.
At this point in his young career, Ti Regi considers his keyboard partition on ?Biznis Pam? as a landmark in his artistic journey, the piece that embodies his musical soul. No wonder he is so pleased with the success of ?Biznis Pam?.
On the personal side, TiRegi?s enjoys playing pool and video games in his spare time. On occasions he plays ping-pong and soccer. While he has been listening to more hip-hop and reggae lately, his favorite Compas band remains Djakout Mizik. He also enjoys Nu-Look and Carimi. Haitiwebs wishes continued success to this promising young musician and congratulates him on his accomplishments to date.
