While in Tenerife, I have learned of some good and bad news from the

carnaval in Brazil.

Osama Bin Laden is a winner. The Osama mask has been the best selling

in Rio this year. Behind came GW?s face.

350,000 foreigners were expected in Rio this year. Among them

Barbara Bush. Whose mask would she wear: Osama or GW?

An epidemics of dengue fever has erupted concomitantly with the start

of carnaval in Rio. At last count, it has killed six people and made

7,000 others sick.

An algae has been killing the lagoon fish in Rio over the last week.

This is the second time this happen in two years at carnaval time.

Any relation?

Ricardo Chavez has joined Crocodilo, replacing Daniela Mercury who

quit last year to create her own bloco. Does she have her own bloco?
