On Globalization of Food. True or False?
Under the banner of Food ?Interdependence?, multinational agribusiness corporations are now creating a single global agricultural system in which they would exercise integrated control over al stages of production from farm to consumer. If they succeed, they, like the oil companies, will be able to effectively manipulate supply and prices on a worldwide basis through monopoly practices already well rehearsed on a national basis in the United States. Farmers , workers and consumers everywhere are already experiencing the costs of Food monopolization in terms of rising prices, artificial shortages, and diminishing quality. Encouraged by the U.S. taxpayer?s support, protected by strong U.S military and diplomatic ties to precisely the kind of governments most favoring foreign investments, the Global Farm and Supermarket are creating the type of ?interdependence? no one needs.

?Interdependence? in a world of extreme power inequalities becomes a smokescreen for the usurpation of Food resources by a few for a few.
