Police seize eight high powered AK 47 weapons in St. Elizabeth Parish, Jamaica
Eight high powered weapons and two revolvers were seized Wednesday morning in an operation carried out by the St. Elizabeth Police.
The find, which also includes 75 assorted rounds, was made at Great Bay in the parish.
Four men have been arrested in connection with the seizure.
Reports are that close to 3 o? clock police from the parish, acting on intelligence from Kingston, went to the fishing beach where four men were seen removing items from a boat.
Investigations by the police revealed that eight AK 47 assault rifles and two revolvers were among the items that were being removed from the vessel.
Superintendent in Charge of St. Elizabeth, Maurice Robinson, says the gun find is believed to be part of the
drugs for guns trade between criminal elements in Jamaica and Haiti.
