#9 Rollins Sweeps to 9-0 Win Over Bentley Men

WINTER PARK, Fla. - A strong lineup from top to bottom led Rollins to a 9-0 win over Bentley on Friday morning in non-conference Division II men's tennis action at the Martin Tennis Complex. The Tars, ranked ninth in Division II in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings, improved their record to 8-3, while the Falcons concluded their five-game trip to Florida with a 3-7 record this season.

Senior Brian Compton (Cincinnati) set the tone at top-flight singles with a 6-1, 6-2 win over junior Miles Holman (East Longmeadow, Mass./East Longmeadow HS). Compton teamed with senior Albin Hubscher (Plymouth, Minn.), himself a straight sets winner at fourth singles, for an 8-1 win at second doubles. Junior Adrian Tan (Sydney, Australia) didn't lose a game all day, rolling to a 6-0, 6-0 victory at second singles and teaming with junior Hans Ryan Hackenbruch (Port-au-Prince, Haiti) to take an 8-0 set at third doubles.

Junior Gustavo Carvalho (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) and sophomore Pablo Seijo (Madrid, Spain) cruised to an 8-0 win over junior Michael Dolan (Shrewsbury, Mass./St. John's HS) and sophomore Stephen Sparks (Wakefield, Mass./Wakefield HS) at top-flight doubles. Carvalho was also a 6-2, 6-0 winner at third singles, while senior Will Thwaites (Kingston, Jamaica) and freshman Graham Ely (Englewood, Colo.) rounded out the lineup with straight set wins at fifth and sixth singles.

The Falcons are in action again on Saturday, March 22, traveling to Springfield, Mass., to face Northeast-10 Conference rival American International at 1 p.m. The first home match of the spring season comes on Saturday, March 29, against Pace at 1 p.m.
