news South Africa News: SA mercenaries off to Haiti?

Johannesburg, South Africa
02 August 2005 09:17
South African mercenaries are said to be involved in Haiti in the run-up to that country's elections later this year, News24 reported on Tuesday.
It said an e-mail to members of the SA Special Forces League mentions that league members and former members of the police task force have apparently "positioned" themselves for "fireworks in a small, controversial, Caribbean country".
The league's official stance is that it "aggressively condemns all mercenary-related activities".
Those involved are warned to abandon the operation, no matter what promises have been made to them.
"The whistle has been blown; the game is over; get out and stay out," is the warning.
News 24 said this might confirm certain South Africans' involvement, mentioned in newspaper and radio reports in Port au Prince, the capital of Haiti.
These reports claimed between 10 and 15 South African mercenaries travelled to the Dominican Republic, presumably to obtain visas to enter Haiti.
They are supposed to cause chaos in the country in the run-up to the elections.
An international security company, which previously supplied bodyguards to former president Jean-Bertrand Aristide, is thought to be involved in recruiting the latest group.
It is known that several South Africans had worked for the security company previously, said News24.
The Dominican security forces are reportedly investigating the possible presence of the men in their country.
Reports on the matter also appeared in Le Matin in Haiti.
This newspaper linked the alleged mercenaries to Aristide. It said their mission apparently was to murder political leaders, disrupt business, and foment civil resistance.
The report states the Dominican security forces are contacting their peers in Haiti to try to prevent any attempted violence.
About 7 600 UN peacekeepers have been deployed in Haiti to help stabilise the country. - Sapa

Haiti should be so lucky. ANC fought one of the world's bloodiest, racist, sick colonial systems and won. Any help from ANC to fight the current colonial regime in Haiti would be a blessing. AMANDLA!!

Pretoria - South African mercenaries are claimed to be involved once again in destabilisation operations in a foreign country - this time in Haiti in the run-up to its elections later this year.
An e-mail notice to members of the SA Special Forces League mentions that league members, friends and former members of the police task force apparently already have "positioned" themselves for "fireworks in a small, but very controversial, Caribbean country".
The league's official message is that it "aggressively condemns all mercenary-related activities".
Those involved are warned they must abandon the operation, no matter what promises have been made to them.
"The whistle has been blown; the game is over; get out and stay out," is the warning.
The warning might confirm certain South Africans' involvement, mentioned in newspaper and radio reports in Port au Prince, the capital of Haiti.
Provided bodyguards to Aristide
These reports claimed that 10 to 15 South African mercenaries travelled through Europe to the Dominican Republic bordering Haiti, where they would presumably have got visas to enter Haiti.
They are supposed to cause chaos in the country in the run-up to the elections.
An international security company, which had previously provided bodyguards to former president Jean-Bertrand Aristide, is thought to be involved in recruiting the latest group.
Aristide is now an exile in South Africa.
It is known that several South Africans had worked for the security company previously.
The names of some of those involved, which were mentioned in the radio reports, were given phonetically as Garcia Rivas, Duplace, Limburt, C Paul, Trudy, Lowe, Aurel, Hunter, Farrher and Joseph.
It is not known whether the men would have used false names to take part in the alleged action.
The Dominican security forces are reportedly investigating whether there is any sign of the men in their country.
Some of the first reports also appeared in Le Matin in Haiti. This newspaper linked the alleged mercenaries to Aristide and said their assignment apparently was to murder political leaders, disrupt the business community and foment civil resistance.
The report states the Dominican security forces are contacting their peers in Haiti to try to prevent any attempted violence.
7 600 peace-keeping troops in Haiti
Although the national prosecuting authority has not responded yet to the allegations, reporters in South Africa learnt that the team investigating mercenaries knew of the claims and were keeping an eye on the situation.
About 7 600 peace-keeping soldiers have been deployed in Haiti to help stabilise the country.
But, there are sporadic protest marches and violence still occurs and some of the buildings housing the UN have been attacked.
Amnesty International said last week the 170 000 hand guns belonging to the country's civilians could lead to bloody violence before the elections.

Lavalaskiller,
This is exactly what happens when you call in people names. You are just lucky to know how to use a computer and you probably own one, so you think you know everything and everyone else is stupid on your eyes. This is wrong. How do you feel right now after calling this gentleman moron, and at the end, you just put that name in your face.
I understand that you are doing a big and crucial job by promoting the anti-Lavalas idea, but at the same time, you have to do it in the respect of each other. Don't call name, don't curse. We are all Haitians. Althought we have our difference politically, we are still Haitians for life.

Joe the Haitian this is exactly what happens when people want to be the advocacy of idioty. They become the idiot themselves.
You want to try to say something to me? I cannot and will not call people like you approving killings of Haitians by foreigners "Haitians", just because they were born on that land. If you insist on being Haitian, I can say "degenerated Haitian".
As for the other moron, I would remind that the most "popular" defrocked priest in Haitian history had to call upon white body guards for his protection, not blacks. And they are mentioning that same company and former bodyguards.
Unless of course you expect some black people from South Africa, very skinny, so they don't stand out of the crowd.
You still don't understand that your idiot in South Africa 'gin foli blan'? I remember last year when he was telling them "Vini vit". "Vit" they came, to kick him out.
And btw, those freaking mercenaries did not do anything for him, when Guy Philippe was "coughing".
Keep up this kind of logic, the two of you, I love it in a way. It shows to the world that in fact Lavalas is made up a bunch of greedy corrupted drug dealers cretins.
AMANDLA manman'w!!

In South Africa, at the time of apartheid when the white minority was ruling the country, ANC WAS a movement like NAACP. Now that South Africa is free politically, ANC IS a political party. Lavalaskiller is right when saying those are mercenaries not ANC.

Lavalaskiller,
I'm truly sorry for your ignorance. When I first read your reply, I was offfended and was ready to write you back, when I thought about other people who are going to read it, I told myself, why should I be acting like this trashy guy with no education, with no respect for people. I'm sure your parents tried to give you some, but you were too dumb to get them. You have too much anger in you, you are even mad at yourself. Mostly when you are talking, you don't make any sense. There is no need for someone to be engaging in any kind of discussion with you because you cannot help yourself to not cursing; that's all you know. You don't even know anything about Haiti, about Lavalas, about anti-Lavalas, you are just ignorant; oh !!! let's me use your word, you're a moron.

Hey Joe the Moron! What is education for you? Drinking human blood like your foes used to do? Sacrificing a baby like you and your cannibal priest used to do?
Poophead, I cannot respect little sh*t like you. You are of the vermine kind who have destroyed my country in every conceivable way. You've murdered people from the very beginning, you've stolen millions as it is well documented now a day.
You've done nothing but harm and regression in those many years that we had to smell assh*les like you.
So yes I am an ignorant, because I don't practice your cannibalistics voodoo rituals.
You stupid drug dealer thief. That's all you know how to do: steal and sell drugs and murder people. You are the biggest jerk I ever saw on this site, and I'll talk and treat you like the dog that you are.
Your time is gone, and it is gone forever. Go find yourself some other blood to drink. It won't be the Haitian people any more. Nou fout ale nou fout ale net!
And you know what, you can keep on paying people 10.00 dollars to register like you currently are doing, nou pap fout tounin. Pep la bouke pran sant KK tankou'w.
