PLAY A SUCKER TO CATCH A SUCKER

SEEM DUMBER THAN YOUR MARK

You know, a majority of the time when someone is more intelligent that we are we tend to find that as an intolerable act. However, me myself, I don't find that if someone is more intelligent than myself a problem, as long as they do not attempt to make me feel stupid. You see, just because a person is smarter than you in one aspect, does not necessarily mean that they are smarter than you in all aspects. Because of this, soak up their knowledge, and go get more from somewhere else. The one thing that a person can never take from you is your knowledge. When you learn something, you learn it for self. Like I continually tell my kids. "Do you think you go to school for me? I went to school already? I have basic knowledge already? What you are learning in school is to benefit "YOU"?"

But you know, here in America, and perhaps sometimes in Haiti too, people play dumb in order to fit in. Sometimes being smart can cost you. sometimes being smart, can be you ostracized. Sometimes being too smart won't get anyone to play with you. In all games it is good to have an opponent. What fun is it to play by yourself? In this game of power as in life book knowledge is good, but real knowledge is a majority of the time gained from experiences, wisdom given, research made, acknowledgments received.

Intelligence to some creates an arrogance or can be attached to one's vanity. A majority of the time when that happens, these individuals tent to insult another. One mustn't do that. Don't get me wrong sometime you must show someone a little something, that's different than coming out an insulting, or belittling another.

There are advantages to playing dumber than your mark. When one plays dumber than their mark, you end up disarming your mark because they do not believe you are able to get them, plot against them. They will have a tendency of thing you are incapable of committing cold blooded calculations and deception. They will not understand that you were acting like a hunter clothing himself in the hide and snout of a pig, mimicking its grunting as you are approaching the tiger. they do not understand and become arrogant and over confident thinking that you are easy prey.

Sometimes you need to look like the fool to disguise your dangerous ambitions.

"Sophistication" also plays the same role. When a person believes they are smarter and more sophisticated than you, they tend to keep you around because lowering you makes them feel better about themselves. Don't take offense, because the more they keep you around the more opportunities you will have to deceive them.

Remember, these tables are two sided, the same way you do, is the same way someone can do to you. Do not get in a habit of playing dumb because when people find out the truth it can be a problem. you want people to after mission is accomplished to inadvertently learn the truth about you-the fact that you are actually much smarter than you look-they will admire you more for being discreet than going full blast.

Also remember, if you are just starting to climb out of the "crab" bucket, you can not look stupid or act dumb. if you must, let you boss know first that this is your plan so that they will feel comfortable, they you are stronger than their competition.

Last but not least, remember in the game of intelligence, appearance is what counts. If you have authority and knowledge, people will believe what you say. if you say it in a manner with authority people will believe what you say.

Just be able to "play the role of a professor when necessary and never impose such an attitude for its own sake."
