Run, Run, Run Away

LAW 22
USE THE SURRENDER TACTIC
TRANSFORM WEAKNESS INTO POWER
Sometimes you have to surrender to regroup and or find alliance, anything is better than suffering devastation and defeat. When you are powerful, you are in a position to do what you want. When you are weak, a majority of the times you have to accept what is given to you. The powerful have a way of determining what is fair and what is not and more than likely, it will be in their favor. The powerful, even though that is what we strive for, has a tendency to go against the general good and the necessary laws of nature. That is why when we get power, we need a checking system. We are human, it is easy to fall victim to anyone of the seven deadly sins.
Honor is a good thing to have. Honor does not become a problem until it affects someone's pride. When you have assessed that you are the weaker party, what would you have gained by fighting a battle you knew you were going to loose. Some battles, it doesn't even make sense to fight. It's useless. Who comes to help the weak-really. who really helps the weak without an ulterior motive against them. If you are weak and you fight an already obvious battle, they only thing that you gain is martyrdom. What is the benefit of being known as a martyr. You will not be here to enjoy the fruits of your intended work. Now, if you become a martyr, as a result of fighting a battle you had a prospect in winning, well that's one thing. But, an already determined lose, that's stupid.
Do not play a role of a martyr to gain sympathy. Sometimes it is not good to argue, refuse to answer questions, challenge, yell or hurl insults, especially when that is what is expected. Doing the opposite can actually disgust many that challenge your beliefs or compromise your values. Keep in mind that people that try to show off their authority can be deceived you the surrender tactic. By supposedly surrendering, you make them feel important; it makes them think you respect them, they make themselves an easier target for your later counterattack.
Power is measured over time, long-term maneuverability, not short-lived glories of martyrdom.
Sometimes surrendering can conceal your power, if done at the right time. I gives you the opportunity to not use all your resources, and it also gives you time to recoup, undermine and avenge if necessary. Never sacrifice time in exchange for honor in a battle that you cannot win. "Weak people never give way when they ought to." Cardinal de Retz, 1613-1679
We can tend to be our biggest problem. We often, because we our human, can overreact to the moves of our enemies and rivals. That overreaction can cause and create a problem that could have been avoided. Because for every action there is a reaction. We overreact and the enemy reacts to that overreaction. At times there is a time that you must meet aggression with non Resistance, not fighting back, turn the other cheek ideal of thinking. it's going to be hard. but sometimes we get more done. During this time period of now confusing your opponent you will be able to plot counter moves that will bring them down. You will be in and with self control. and when you crush them, when you crush them they will genuinely surrender and give up their freedom, because they were crushed by the humiliation of their defeat. They in essence have two choices, swallow humble pie or become a martyr.
Running away, does not mean you will not fight. Those chasing you, will continue to chase you and best believe eventually will catch you. however, you now have the opportunity to better surround your enemy, and strike up close. You have gained and positioned yourself to be able to give a devastating counter blow. Sometimes, the surrender tactic gives you access to your enemy. It allows you the ability to learn their ways, insinuate your self with him slowly, outwardly conform to his customs, and inwardly maintain your own culture. Because in their minds you are weak and they are inferior, they are not thinking about you as you are plotting on them. In using your surrender tactic you deprive your opponet from getting angry, thus causing them to be confused when they find out the truth of your ultimate plans. Though you give up some freedom, you only truly appear to surrender, like "the animal that plays dead to save its hide."
During this period of sabbatical that you surrender you must, refind yourself, raise yourself back up, regroup yourself. You learn to be patient and exhibit self control which so happen to be key components in playing this game.
