Selection Senior Wish List FIXED

Haiti U-21 Qualified for the CAC Games Finals which will start after World Cup 2006. Gold Cup 2007 qualifiers will also start later this year. Many feel that the current U-21 need the experience and should play the Gold Cup Qualifiers. Others feel that Haiti cannot afford to miss the Gold Cup again and that experienced and Haitian players in foreign leagues should be brought in. The FHF approach has been to rely on domestic players and foreign based players were not called in for the last Gold Cup Qualifiers. Haiti got knocked out by Cuba but had a good performance especially by Aigle Noir's Striker, Eliphene Cadet.

Playing coach:

What is your opinion about the approach that Haitian Coach, Carlo Marcelin should take? Who should be selected for each position? What does Haiti need the most to be competitive in the CONCACAF?

I'm just tired of Haitians living in Haiti excluding the so called Diaspora.. We are the future of Haiti and during hard times we keep Haiti together and alive. I feel Haiti needs a good run in the Gold cup qualifiers and the likes of Peguerro, Saintus, Noel, Altidore should be invited to join the team. They are experienced, they are playing abroad and used to play in front of large crowd, but most of all, they are HAITIANS and I'm sure they will be pleased to represent HAITI. dw0

So I say, get a coach with a little imagination, a little experience, a coach who will go with the program. ( 3/4 of the Brazilian team plays outside of Brazil, 1/2 of the American team plays outside of US, 1/2 Jamaican team plays outside of Jamaica, ect). Let us join the program and benefit from the experiences acquired abroad by those "Diaspora players". ari01 yokes

The gold cup scene is an opportunity for Haiti-based players to attract the attention of the MLS and other CONCACAF Leagues. It's also a chance for the Haitian MLS Players to open a door to Europe. Including our foreign-based players would increase our chances in the Gold cup, but do we bring them in for the Qualifiers or for the cup itself?

On one hand:

The league has been going without interruption for a few seasons now. The last interruption was during the World Cup 2006. Digicel has given the 1st division teams a reason to play and the championnat is a lot more competitive. So maybe Haiti should attempt to qualify with home-based players. It might be difficult to get Jean-Jacques Pierre from FC Nabtes to play a qualifier.

On the other hand:

We need a coach with experience in high level competions, like CONCACAF Champion's Cup for example. Haiti cannot afford to miss out on the next Gold Cup, the US based fans demand it.

You've been quiet, are you enjoying our progress? Haiti made it to the Gold Cup after all.

Only one Foreign player, Stephane Guillaume of Miami FC helped out. Eliphene Cadet has snubbed an offer from a Venezuela team but if it comes from MLS or some bigger South American League he'll probably go.

If you are talking about Cadet, a trade would be good for him, his team and the Haitian League.
