Cricket is the #1 sport here in Trinidad, and Brian Lara is the #1 name
attached to the game. Every year, in the yard on his hilltop mansion
above the Savannah, Brian Lara throws the carnaval party of the year.
Tonight, by the most beautiful night you can fancy, a thousand of the
pretty, rich and famous of Trinidad (from the diaspora or the mother land)
attended the yearly event. This was the place to be.
The biggest stars were on stage: Destra, Denise, Roppy, Bunjii, and of
course Machel.
The party ended at 11:00 p.m. The Expedition members are now heading
toward the poolside party at the Hilton till 3:00. Traffik (the popular
band) will be there.
If we have any stamina left, after 3:00 a.m., we will partake to a Jouvert
party until 8:00 a.m. Two hours later, at 10:00 a.m., we are due to join
Barbarossa for a 10-hour jump-up on the carnaval circuit...
