The Metamorphosis: Chapter VI: Aristide's life in exil

From: The Metamorphosis
SUMMARY: ARISTIDE AND LIBERAL MYTHOLOGY Aristide's plunge from power gave liberals--hungry to find a new horse to carry them to their personal, professional or political goals--the opportunity to make him their new pet cause (1). His seven months in power were romanticized as a progressive period that benefitted the poor, and were later used as flax to spin into all kinds of fairy tales, including the mythical Lavalas "land reform" program, accepted as gospel truth along the liberal to left political spectrum. Paul Farmer, among hundreds of other liberal devotees, spread the land reform myth in his book, "The Uses of Haiti."

Enjoy :
Pe Benet te genyen konpani avyon-li: "Haiti-Air". Milite-yo te genyen konpani avyon-yo: "HaitiTransAir".
Aristid ak chyen-li bezwen mare youn kob an plis. Yo deside fe konpani avyon pa-yo.
Se pou tet sa-a, Aristid ak Preval vin nan youn reinyon pou yo ka deside non konpani-a.
Aristid deside chwazi non-a pou kon li.
Aristid tre fache pwop chyen-li ap manke-l dega.
Youn lot sousou genyen youn lot lide. Nou toujou ap fe demagoji ap bay fenm pouvwa. An nou mande youn fenm ki nan kabine minis chwazi non konpani-a. Youn lot sousou reflechi: "Si pep-la konen se youn fenm nan kabine ki chwazi non-a. Vlepavle Pep-la pral rele konpani: Jambanl-Air".
Youn lot tyoul kap touche youn chek-zonbi lameri PotoPrens di: "An nou mande Mano Chalmagn chwazi non-a".
Preval oganize youn referandom. Anpil moun al vote. Finalteman, Preval oblije piblye non Pep-la chwazi pou konpani-a: "LAMIZ-AIR".

BLAGUE DE NOUVELLE ANNEE
Le Départ de Ledzebut
Avertissez la belle fanfare
Allez chercher tous les pétards
Déployez vite les étandards
Pour Aristide, c'est le départ!
Qu'il aille trouver son frère soulard
A Zanzibar
