Good Luck / Bad Luck

Many people believe that doing certain things can bring you bad luck or good luck. Do you think this is true?

Some people believe these things. Do you agree?

Sneezing is dangerous, because when you sneeze, your soul can fly out of your body. When somebody sneezes, always says, ?God bless you? then the person won?t die.

Always get out of bed on the right side and step on your right foot first; you?ll be unlucky all day. Did you forget and get out of bed on the left side? Back up to the bed, lie-down and get up again on the right side.

Breaking a mirror can bring you seven years of bad luck, or somebody in your family will die. When you break a mirror, take it outside and bury it. Then bad thing won?t happen.

Spilling salt can also bring bad luck. When you spill salt throw some of it over you left shoulder, that will send the bad luck away from you.

Never walk under a ladder that brings very bad luck. When you have to walk under a ladder, cross your fingers.

Blacks cats are unlucky. When a black cat walks in front of you, go home and start your trip again.

Opening an umbrella in the house is also unlucky. People say, ?It makes the sun angry?.

What can you do to have good luck? Some people carry a clover with four leaves. Other people carry a rabbit?s foot. Some people say, ?Hang a horseshoe over your door?.

A lot of people believe these things can bring bad luck or good luck. Do you?

They also say: whatever you believe in, will create your reality. So the things you mentioned above , to me are BULLSH!T. Whatever you believe in, will occur.

I try to keep up with ONLY positive thoughts. I always believe that something good will happen , if something bad happens...I keep my head up and say to myself that everything happens for a reason. Most of the time, that is the case.

If you believe that, when your eyelid twitches, someone close to you is going to die, then baby you better check your available balance in the bank and prepare for a funeral.

I don't believe in any of those stories because grow-up in Haiti with grand-parents I have heard all kinds of non- sense such as don't point your finger at a rainbow, don't eat meat on good friday you'll die etc... but it was fun to listen to and scare the youngest.

I think we all sometimes like to point a finger at these omens and wivestales in order to get closure on a failure or mishap. In reality though if we do this we'll never aspire to anything as we'll always live in some shadow of superstitious fears.

If any of these were true, I'd beat King Tutenkamen (spelling ...sure I'll get hell if wrong..but I'll live the curse..point!) as a ruined piece of remains dead millions of times over. God willing I'd pass this on to my kids. They should look at everything in realsitic ways. Not use freaky scapegoats to excuse misfortune or use it to justify regressive actions. Go ahead and live a little! MANG! LOL

Exactement. Il faudrait que l'on pense un jour à éduquer tous ces gens à propos des superstitions et tout ça parce que ça devient franchement grave ! Quand on voit que des gens votent pour Préval ou Aristide on se dit que l'on n'est pas sortis de l'auberge.

Tu sais je partage ton opinion mais c'est dommage que le government de notre pays ne croit pas a l'education ca a toujours ete un luxe comme tous les autres necessites d'ailleurs, je me demande s'il n'est pas trop tard. Le temps nous le dira.
