USA(U-20) VS HAITI 2-1 SCORE FINAL
U.S. Under-20 Men's National Team vs. Haiti
Pizza Hut Park; Frisco, Texas
March 28, 2007
Today our national team who came out of a super victory saturday agaisnt Panama , lost their first game in nearly 3 months against a U-20 team of The US,the game that several haitians watch live on USSOCCER.COM pictured the newly champion of the caribean as a team who need to work on various points.We should not let our emotions get in the way , i watched clips of the game against Panama and besides what everybody was saying i think Haiti suffered a little, if i could i would of upload the clips for you guys to see.
Today we play an OK match , we lost because we started the game on the wrong foot , i really think the coach should not have started with the reserve team , he should have the best players started , maybe went ahead 2 to 3 goals the made the substitutions to give the reserve a little play time.Then the subs came too late , which prooves he was not going to play the regulars at all .I also think we should have better players on the bench ,if we have 5 injuries before the Gold Cup (cause everybody is playing in the league we are in big trouble building a competitive team, a team is only good when the bench is able to play like the starters(Agentina VS Holland in GERMANY 2006).Idon't see why the starters could have not played since the begining, this was not an importnat game , we are not in a tournament, this trip is for them to get cohesion between them so let them play , please.Maybe Sat we will do better against the FC DALLAS.
I have to say that when the starters started to come in , we played better and if it wasn't for the ability of Eliphene CADET who scored the equaliser(75th min) we would have been embaraced by the young americans, who celebrated this victory furiously.
1 Fenelon G, (GK)
21 Olrish S,(D)
12 James M,(D) -> Mones Chery (18)
6 Stephane G,(D)
5 Ednelson (D) -> Frantz Gilles (3)
2 Alcenat J S (M)
8 Coriolan W (M) -> Alain Vubert (4)
7 Tim Velten (M)
15 Lesly Fellinga (M)
11 Fabrice N, (A)
16 Pierre-St-Jean (A) -> (Fucien Brunel (17)
Lesly Fellinga and Tim Veltem , started the game today , they didn't impress me , but i'm not going to judge them on a one game i will wait and see, also the coach had them play differrent positions , i think they were midfielders today , not a good move because this guys are trained forwards they don't want to be in the midfield.
Fabrice Noel , i know is the " Chou chou " of eveybody , i will not be surprise to see him out of the team , he's performance was terrible , not one shot during the game and he was playing forward.
Stepahne Guillaume,Eliphene,Fenelon,Frantz Gilles,Jmaes Marcelin,Sorel Olrish,Ednelson Raynond,Alcenat Jean,Sony (tiga),PierreRoland St jean. all have an good game .
Bouciquaut, Brunel,Alain Vubert,Mones Chery,did not play enough for me to comment on their performance they came too late in the game.
Overall , good performance , there is a lot of progress, positioning , discipline, passes, controling , and tactics.

Tim Velten (Reginald)

If i may say something about Tim Velten. I know him all my life. I watched the game also on ussoccer.com. And its easy to say that he didnt inpress you. But can you tell why? Because i dont think your right . Let me explain why. Tim played on a position on the midfield. He's a striker. or a AR atacker right. On number ten he did a great job. Its all about the way you wanna play and the way you can play. I dont know the haiti national team. ( im a fan now) but if haiti plays counter footbal tim may not be a good number ten. He kept the ball at the right times and het played it to his teammates thats good footbal if other players can do the same. Its the dutch football style short passing. If you guys need a counter striker. a fast one then you can use him also he's fast.Then use him as a forward.
He was one of the greatest talents of holland. He played a yought internationals of Holland, and one of the biggest talents in the competitions. It al stopped when a team mate kicked the shit out of him. Now hes on his way back. So plz give him the chance and he will prove his big talent
Greeting
a dutch fan.

Haiti should not have played that game!
There has to be a mutual benefit in whatever game that Haiti plays right now. Let's say we won the game what would that have proven? Not much beyond the fact that we just beat a bunch of kids! But on the other side, it will be celebrated that they just beat the Caribbean champs. I watched the game and saw it as not much more than a practice. It was a total different team from what I saw on Saturday, but they are hidden reasons!
Why was this game played?
I hate to say it, but it's a shame that the federation is using our players for to fill their pockets. According to reports from Miami, the players were promised $1000 each after the game. The federation at the last minute worked out some deal with the U-20 and Dallas and decided to have the team go to Texas requiring the players to pay the cost. So, the players ended with only 200 of that 1000.
Something is got to give! There has to be a limit to what these guys can do! They have gone too far! I have read metropole.com that the players have not been paid in 4 months because supposedly the federation has yet to receive the money from Concacaf. There are also claims that Haiti owed concacaf as much as $105, 000 so the money was kept.
I am not sure what can be done but I am sure that Concacaf and Fifa have directives in place to deal with such instances. I think the only way to dethrone the current president is through the clubs, but it needs to happen. The government cannot get involved or Haiti will be penalized, but the league can and should do something before these guys misses it all up.

Soccer

I recall a couple months ago me & Panoramix got into a debate whether the Haitian NT should use or call college players for the team
Click on the Link and you could read about our debate
http://www.haitiwebs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43003
My point about last night game between the US-U20 team against the Haitian Team is about the word National team
I think the game should have been play but they should never had announce to the media that the Haitian National team is playing ... they should have call it US20 against Haitian Reserved (Don't call it National team) team
To me that is the embarrassment for the NT when you are the Digicel Cup champion and lower your standard for money and play US U20 team ( Not even the US U-23, US under 20 a bunch of College kids) and have the National team lose to bunch of College kids ....
to me that is an embarrassment for the Federation, for our National team and for our players in the first division of Haitian soccer not been able to beat a bunch of college kids ...
You got to be kidding me for the federation to embarrasses the NT team like that ...
NT team cannot even beat a bunch of college kids .. then don't call it a National team, Call it the reserved ...
an actuality .... thats what it was .... the Reserved against a bunch of college kids and we can even beat them ...

Mark , welcome by the way to our site , glad to have you following your idol (Tim Velten) , i would like to say that i never said it wasn't a good player i even mentioned that he wasn't playing at the right position , i know he's a forward and i also know that was he's first game with a bunch of guys he never played with before, i'm sure he has talents but yerterday was not a good game for him , like i do for all the players thatwas on the pitch i gave him a rating appropriate to the performance he rendered.
We has Haitian , we play short pass , this is our style , brazilian style this is how we play , so i don't get the fact that you said we weren't playing he's style , he was just in the wrong position an di'm telling you what , if he's not ready to be able to play other position then he might have problems playing for this team , our midfields is always fill with skilled players that will give you the ball and some of them has been playing together for years.I will wait to see what progress he will make ,i'm sure he will though.
