Honduras takes second friendly against El Salvador
28.3.07 - Honduras defeated El Salvador for a second time in an international friendly in less then a week after posting a 2:0 victory at SAS Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina USA on Tuesday evening.
After winning the first encounter between the two over the weekend, Honduras got two goals from Jairo Martínez in the victory over El Salvador.
The win extends the catrachos unbeaten streak to four games, while cuscatlecos have won only three times in their last 12 matches.
Both teams are in preparations for the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup™ which will run from 6-24 June in six venues across the USA.

Mexico defeats Ecuador in friendly; USA held to draw against Guatemala
29.3.07 - Mexico defeated Ecuador by a score of 4:2 in an international friendly at the McAfee Coliseum in Oakland, California USA on Wednesday evening.
A crowd of 47,416 saw Francisco Palencia open the scoring for Mexico in the 29th minute, but Carlos Tenorio tied it for Ecuador just before halftime.
Ecuador took the lead with a goal by Giovanny Espinoza in the 57th minute, but Rafael Márquez leveled for Mexico in the 72nd minute.
Omar Bravo (83rd) and Adolfo Bautista (87th) scored in a span of four minutes for the tricolor in the victory.
Elsewhere on Wednesday, the USA were held to a scoreless draw against visiting Guatemala at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas.
The result ended the stars & stripes’ seven game winning streak on US soil against the chapines.
Guatemala, Mexico and USA are in preparations for the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup™ which will run from 6-24 June.

Costa Rica achieves 1000th goal in 1:1 draw against Chile
29.3.07 - Costa Rica achieved their historic 1000th career goal in the 1:1 draw against the hosts, Chile, in an international friendly, at the Fiscal Stadium in Talca on Wednesday evening.
After Chile took a 1:0 halftime lead with a goal by Reinaldo Navia in the 33rd minute, Rolando Fonseca scored the equaliser in the 61st minute for Costa Rica.
Since the ticos scored their first goal (by Joaquín Manuel Guiterrez) in their inaugural game (7:0 win against El Salvador) on 14 September 1921, Costa Rica has played in 524 international matches and is only the second CONCACAF nation (first – Mexico) to have scored 1,000 goals.
Costa Rica is in preparations for the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup™ which will run from 6-24 June in six venues across the USA.
