HAT'S OFF: Laventure's 3 goals lift Red Bulls reserves, 4-1
East Rutherford, N.J. -- Jerrod Laventure recorded a hat-trick for the Red Bulls reserves in their 4-1 victory over F.C. Dallas at Giants Stadium Sunday.
Defender Marvell Wynne, who lost his starting spot at right fullback to Hunter Freeman for the first-team match (a 3-0 Red Bulls win), added a 30-yard goal.
The Red Bulls drew first blood in the sixth minute when Sal Caccavale slotted a ball through to Laventure, who beat goalkeeper Dario Sala. The hosts doubled their lead when Wynne collected a ball 30 yards out and lofted a shot to the back post past the outstretched Sala.
In the 37th minute, midfielder Joe Vide threaded a pass through the defensive line to forward John Wolyniec, who was taken down by defender Eric Lewis in the penalty area for a penalty kick. Laventure converted the penalty to the back right post.
Dominic Oduro got FC Dallas on the board in the 43rd minute. The visitors put numbers forward as the ball ping ponged through the penalty area before falling to the feet of Oduro, who slotted it past keeper Danny Cepero.
Laventure finished off his hat-trick in the 51st minute as he headed a Sinisa Ubiparipovic cross past substitute keeper Ray Burse.
