The Men's Varsity Soccer program at Kentucky Christian, under 2nd Year Head Coach David Messer, propelled themselves into the Top 25 National Rankings as their season came to a close.
The National Christian College Athletic Association released the national rankings and honors and KCU is represented well. The NCCAA records and releases a weekly report of statistics for the Nation and in the final week of play KCU is proud to announce their ranking of 17th in the Nation in total standings points.
The Knights put an exclamation point on their regular season play with some strong end of the season wins. They topped last season's 4-12-2 record, and closed out the season with a 6-12-1 record.
Messer further stated: "We have a whole lot to look forward to for next year. Loosing only two seniors and picking up several new recruits, we will be a strong contender for our region in 2008. I would like to let our young men know how proud I am of their hard work and determination this season. Starting the season out with a 1-7 record, they could have given up and hung their heads. BUT THEY PRESSED TOWARD THE MARK! " Step it up they did! Kentucky Christian brought home to Grayson some regional and national recognition and honors.
In the national rankings, the NCCAA assigns point values to a team's win/loss record, total points accumulated by the team per game, total team statistics and team statistics for goalkeeping. For the individual player, the NCCAA also assigns point values to a player's individual performance with points per game, individual goals per game, individual assists per game and individual statistics for goalkeeping.
