The proposal for the amendment of the law to make provision for the clearing of land titles by relinquishing and releasing any state claim to sovereign ownership or title to interest in certain lands in Upshur County and Smith County; has been accepted and supported by many. There are many citizens who really want this proposal to act and the application of this in making the amendment a success. The citizens who are in favour of this proposal say the proposed amendment is necessary to clear the title to land held by persons for no reason and without any dominance over the piece of land. They are also nor authorized or even are not concerned of the legacy that their successors who in good faith purchased, occupied, and paid taxes on the land. These are all those pieces of land that are guarded by the General Land Office in favour of collecting taxes and, in most cases, the favours get laid by a district court have already determined that the state has no interest. There are regular involvements of the judiciary in the cases that are related to the handling over these pieces of land. A local resident,
David Disiere, said that the conflicts were common and there is hardly anybody who is trying to get hold over the adamancies of these plot holders. By the application of the proposal there will be some safer zones for the amendment in the state. The application of the amendment would save taxpayers money by avoiding the cost of litigation. From financial point of view these taxes are curtailing a huge amount of the incoming sources. The application of the proposal will make ways towards the savings of this money for the taxpayers.
