Haitian documents

Hello everyone,
I am completely new to blogging/message boards so I hope you will be patient and bear with me. I was hoping that members may have some insight regarding the following:
I am trying to track down a relative's marriage certificate. She was married in Haiti almost 40 years ago, and my relative in Haiti has made no progress in getting the paperwork through the Haitian archives. I was told that there may be a resource in the US that can track down Haitian official documents. Does anyone know anything about this? Any guidance would be GREATLY APPRECIATED. Thanks.
