Dominican military, Haitian mission chiefs hold surprise meeting
SANTO DOMINGO.- The Dominican Armed Forces senior Command surprisingly met this Tuesday morning with the military command and civilian heads of the Mission of the Nations United for the Stabilization of Haiti, (Minustah), without making public the reason.
It was reported the in the meeting, coordinated by the Dominican consul in Port-au-Prince, Carlos Castillo, and the military attaché, colonel Alfredo Cordero, a video was shown on Minustah?s operations in Haiti.
Taking part in the meeting was Armed Forces minister Ramon A. Aquino, the Dominican chiefs of Staff, the Minustah adjutant general and the civil mission chief, ambassador Rafael Mulet.
The meeting, which lasted two hours, was apparently to exchange information to elaborate plans joint efforts between the Dominican Armed Forces and Minustah.
