| | Haiti: Casualties in the City of the Sun By Jeb Sprague,
Posted on Sat Dec 23rd, 2006 at 05:14:21 AM EST
Months after Haiti's interim government stepped down, the United Nations MINUSTAH force and the Haitian police continue heavy-handed incursions into Port-au-Prince's poor communities.
The...
| | | | | Miami University humans rights study : No matter what their titles are or how high their academic level is, idiots will remain idiots.
In a society where crimes go unpunish, where thugs have lounched audacious series of kidnapping targeting children, this is the kind of intervention needed. That wound the kid suffered may have saved his own life and the life of many others.
1) Whith the type of weapons the thugs possess, it's no longer police business. It is now a millitary business. What do they teach at Miami University? Idiocracy!?
2) Those Gang leaders so far have been treated like political activists with so much rights that the Prime Minister offered to negotiate with them. So now they're empowered to kidnap my children in Haiti and they are cheered in their neighborhoods as heroes when they bring in their victims. You now have a sick and scared society and an unstable government.
Sick society: In the current environment in Haiti, those gang leaders have assumed leadership roles. With this sickness even people that could have been honest in a different settings will turn to crime. Potential rapists of women, young boys and girls will no longer be "potential". Green card to kidnapp, rape and ask a ransom, ohh don't worry the government will negotiate with you. This is why I say that the wound may have saved this kid's life. His heroes are not heroes.
What do they teach at Miami University? Idiocracy!?
3) 10 confirmed kills in Cite Soleil, I've been there. 9 people living in a 10' by 10' room, this place has an extremely high density of population. This was a strategic millitary hit done by well trained millitary, the wounded were in the way and paid the price. If this was done by 6 months-training Haitian Police or CIMO the body count would have been worst. This is the only successful response so far against those criminals. No casualty on the UN-PNH side so the mission went to perfection. The ones that got killed were shooting back.
Morons University, oops...Miami University President, Dean, Chairman whatever, review you curricullum please! | | | | | Pano ... I wonder what your reaction would have been if the boys that was shot at in the picture happen to have been a member of your family? ...
I wonder | | | | | | I thank God with every breadth I take for the children in my family have better role models to look up to.

| | There are always casualties in a war bana, like TiCam said, it is unfortunate that one boy was wounded during the exchange between the kidnappers and the legal forces. The kidnappers killed and wounded much more boys physically and psychologically for no reason, the forces are doing their job: to get raid of the kidnappers and their friends. Stop crying for your biberon and stop that war of words that will not lead to anything. You are a lavalassien I am not, neither is Pano, I believe. So you will never see that war the same way as we do, as I do, especially when I had a female member of my family who was kidnapped this year. | | | | | Why don't we say it the simple way? Those incompetents have killed the wrong people. The scum that we want to exterminate is still running around. Do it again, but please don't shoot your way in. You know who they are, so please stop the killings and go straight to the scourge of Haiti. Do it professionally and do it quickly. You just standing outside Cite Soleil, then to redeploy back to base is not going to cut it off. The danger will remain as long as those groups exist.
So, all I could do is wondering if that spectacle is not a "coup monte" so Alexis could say: "See we have to negotiate with them in order to avoid a bloodshed".
Because the expected follow up did not happen. Or is it a moron at he head of the Minustah? | | | | Article Tools | Search this Article | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new articles You may not post comments You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off Points Per Thread View: 2.00 Points Per Thread: 35.00 Points Per Reply: 20.00
