Marlie on `Maury' Haitian teenager Marlie Casseus, who had a 16-pound removed from her face
Haitian teenager Marlie Casseus, who had a 16-pound tumor removed from her face at Jackson Memorial Hospital earlier this year, appears on the TV talk show Maury this morning. It's her second appearence, and first since the surgery.
''The first time that I met Marlie, obviously this is a little girl who literally was carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders,'' says Katie McGee, the reporter who did both profiles of Casseus. ``People turned away from her, people mocked her. . . .
``[Now,] it was just amazing just to see her just walk down the hall without [having to hold] her head up. Miracles happen -- they do.''
