| | La plus belle | | | | Glover Defends Venezuelan Film Location LATEST: DANNY GLOVER has defended the decision to film his movie about a Haitian freedom fighter in Venezuela instead of in the troubled nation itself. Glover has been granted $18 million (GBP9 million) by Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez to film TOUSSAINT - the biopic of 18th century Haitian...

An uncle Tom a*ss kisser who has no business doing a movie about our hero. | | | | | Perhaps this is whole other opportunity for a film. "Danny Glover's Role in the Return of Aristide" produced and directed by Mel Gibson ( when he's not Jew bashing, found at strip clubs boozing or trashed behind the wheel...sounds like a winner!)
I wonder what Mel really feels about Afro-Americans as well. I'm not sure of his credibility if this is a sensitive issue of politics and prejudice, etc. | | | | | Quote:

Was that a joke? Only you would be interested by such a movie.
You darn right this guy is a winner. If you can understand a movie, I will refer you to the 3 he made. Braveheart, Jesus, and Apocalypto.
This man is used with epics (look up the word if you are not sure of the meaning); and I shall favor a low life, complexed SOB? | | | | | Same here, I'll be very upset and really mad if any part of this movie does not happen in Haiti. and I think most part of this movie should be shooting in Haiti cauz it's Haitian History. anyway guys....like i said before this movie will not be 100% accurate.. enemies we do have all over the world, I already heard a lot of rumors about this movie so... I know a lot of you Haitian want this movie real bad to be on the big screen but if something about Haiti is going to show on the big screen for people all over the world to see, it should be done in our country because if not, it would be so stupid to let them do the movie somewhere else, reason why... when the world is watching we should be able to say to our friends.....(that is Jeremie, That's Port-au-prince, That's where I used to live) we should be able to tell them because it's our movie and if not they will make fun of the Haitian people..... I say most part if should be in Haiti..
If none of this movie is going to happen in Haiti, I say fuck this movie again
Excuse my language
My Haitian peeps keep this post going on and on... we need you on this... this is serious...
this movie ain't going no where if they not agree to do it the Haitian way... i don't care how much money they going to spend on it.. the money is for them and the History is ours, the Haitian history and we will never forget our greatest history, we know it! they know it! Haitian please open ya eyes on this movie. This could be the end of us... glover and Mel.. WE will work with you if you want to work with us on this movie... just because we have a lil' trouble understanding each other but we do know what's good and we don't take shit from no one... it's because of the white people always putting their mouth where it doesn't belong, always trying to step on the lil' countries just because we don't have any weapon to kick their asses making the world the way it is now...
This movie might be bad for us... i can feel it,, you guyz just don't know how much the world hate us... talk to ya later and keep it up.. love ya Haitian with all my heart and if the country is still like this in 2 to 3 years.... I say we should renew our independence by doing it again, because 203 yrs of Independence take us no where.. we should scratch that and renew it . Desaline said don't ever be friend with them, they no good to us, they will come and take what we have and go, and that's what they doing because we let them in the country... I hate white people so much.... Quote:

Yes, the ignorance of where the country is and what it goes through is formidable. However, I have found many Haitians themsleves guilty of ridding/ casting thmeselves of their own country. Many people from EVERYWHERE are easily pointed fingers at for this outcome.
I think the main point here is that a HISTORY has a chance at being told. Many people will be made aware of this history. It's really always still up to the integrity of viewers interested in how much they know and how much they will investigate for themselves.
At least this film will create an opportunity to taste something and learn as opposed to no exposure or worse how Haiti is/and if portrayed today. (CNN and news as fore-mentioned).
Give it a chance to open a lot of eyes! |
what are u saying? you not Haitian yet

| | | You hate white people so much! Sorry you feel that way. This is a problem for the making and outcome of any film is when the filmakers have a target market. You say nobody pays attention to Haiti because we don't care...and in the same breath you hate us.
How are we supposed to feel? You cannot generalize. There are many white people who know and are are quite involved in helping the country. You also have to help yourselves among those. I feel a tragedy seeing the hate here, yet I'm not surprised. It's unfortunate though. I know many who don't share this point of view and work on improvements.
I'm well aware of Mel's works...Apocaypto was fantastic and perhaps a chance for Mel's repentence for his recent bad behaviour (to say the least).
His " The Passion of the Christ" stirred as much mayhem among other races, creeds and communtities, even though it was prolific to many. It's subjective not objective in all respects to people's faith.
I just fucking want to see the beautiful history told and not ignored. I think a lot of people (of all kinds) will have a chance to see Haiti for the glory it deserves...and take note of it! For God's sake hate who you like, but have you history endeared somehow. It's well deserved....a grandiose understatement! Hated White Lady who Loves Haiti What does it matter what I say...I'm white right?? God forbid a female as well... People who take interest are damned if they do damned if they don't. We're sticking our noses in if we're concerned or show interest and ignorant SOBs if we don't pay any attention to the country's well-being and status in general. See ya! Not a punching bag or Haitian yet! Thanks for asking..

Entièrement d'accord. C'est une honte que ce soit Danny Glover qui s'occupe de ça | | | | | Quote:

you want the beautiful history to be told just like that because when the movie do come out and it didn't come out the way we Haitian suppose to see it.... all eyes going to be on us, haitian! Not you! because you're white...and one white lil' girl can not change a thing, ok.. if it was for one to make a change, Bob Marley would be here, Martin Luter king Jr. would be here, Aristid would be in haiti, our great president would be in Haiti, our great thinkers would be in Haiti not somewhere else. Don't even try to be on our side, because you'll never be... You just don't know.... Do you? Ya the one that is trying to play with some haitian mind to do bad things to the country all the time.. but one day, one day our eyes will open very clear to know not to deal with ya... mostly Americans and France.... what do u know about our people, Haitian heroes?
we haitian are so not ready for this movie, the country need to be in good shape first, and like i said if this movie is going to take place, most of it should be in Haiti. and we are not ready! I know my Haitian peeps, and I'm not going to tell you why I said that we are not ready... most of us know it. jjhotline1creative@myway.com | | | | | | What's that talk about hating white people? Haitians have no problems with white people at all. However I do admit that we don't tolerate white scums. If you think you are a scum, then, yes, we don't like you. | | | | | Débat intéressant mais très violent.
