Miami Surf Women soccer team To Open Inaugural Game This Saturday with a roster full of international player (a Haitian on team).

Miami Lakes, Fl - The Miami Surf will be hosting the South Florida Breeze on May 13, 700P at Barry University in its first inaugural opening game. The Miami Surf belongs to the #1 Women's league in the United States, the Women's Premier Soccer League. The leagues has over 39 teams playing this year with the Surf belonging to the South Division. The league has teams that are scattered throughout the United States from New England to Texas, Michigan to California with former players of the WUSA, current and past National players from around the world.

The Miami Surf has lined up a star-laden roster with players hailing from numerous countries such as Australia, Canada, Finland, Haiti, Jamaica, Scotland, Sweden, Poland and various South American cities. The majority of these players are National players from there respective countries. Owner Ron Clark states "This is truly diverse team for everyone in the community to get behind and support." Clark further states "This team has come together in the past few weeks and will be force to be reckoned with."

Fans can come meet the Miami Surf team this coming Thursday at the Fort Lauderdale Sheraton Hotel (I-95 and Griffin Road) beginning at 830P. This will serve as the Official Press Conference for the team. All media and fans are welcome to attend.

The gates for the game on Saturday will open at 600P. The players will be made available to meet in person at 530P at the front entrance of the gate. The first one hundred fans will receive gifts from the team.

About the Team: The 2006 season will be the first for the Miami Surf. The Surf plan to show its opponents that they can surf on water as well as land by scoring goals.

Type of Players: Current and post-college players, pro's and former professional and international players.

Local Colleges: All local Universities.

Player Tryouts: The Miami Surf will be having open try-outs on May 6 - 7 , 2006 at Monsignor Pace High School. All prospects should be prepared to play and train during these two days. The try-outs will begin promptly at 4:00 PM and conclude at 6:00 PM. All individuals must arrive on time. If any players are minors, they must be accompanied by a parent or guaridian who will give them permission to participate.

There is a Haitian women on the roster and I can't find anything on the website regarding her. Those anybody happen to know whom she is?
