2006 Men's under-21 Central American & Caribbean games in Columbia; Haiti in Group C
17.5.06 - The four three-team groups are set for the Men?s Under-21 Football Tournament at the 2006 Central American & Caribbean (CAC) Games at the conclusion of the draw at the offices of the CONCACAF General Secretariat in New York City on Wednesday.
The 19th edition of the football tournament at the CAC Games will be played from 15-29 July in two venues in Colombia: Estadio Pedro de Heredia ? Cartagena; Estadio Metropolitano Roberto Meléndez ? Barranquilla.
Group A, which will takes place in Cartagena, consists of Netherlands Antilles, Panama and the host, Colombia, while Cuba, Mexico and Venezuela are in Group B in Barranquilla.
The Estadio Pedro de Heredia will also stage matches in Group C which has Costa Rica,
Haiti and Jamaica, while Barbados, Honduras and the defending champion El Salvador are in Group D that will take place at the Estadio Metropolitano Roberto Meléndez.
At the end of the first round on 20 July, the top two from each group will advance to the quarterfinals in Barranquilla and Cartagena on 22 and 23 July.
Each venue will host a semifinal encounter on 26 July, with the losers competing for the bronze medal three days later (29 July) at the Cartagena?s Estadio Pedro de Heredia, while afterwards, the semifinal winners will play for the gold medal.

Downswell has high hopes for U-21 footballers
Jamaica?s football Technical Director, Wendell Downswell, admits his team is more than capable of advancing from his group in the
men's under-21 qualifying tournament for the Central American and Caribbean Games in Colombia between July 15 and 29.
Jamaica has been placed alongside Costa Rica and
Haiti in group C.
Group A will consist of Netherlands Antilles, Panama and host Colombia, while Cuba, Mexico and Venezuela are in group B and Barbados, Honduras, and defending champions El Salvador are in group D.
The top two teams from the 4 groups will advance to the July 22 and 23 quarter finals.
Coach Wendell Downswell is confident his team can be in the top two to progress to the quarter finals.
