Inaugural CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship set for Costa Rica
7.8.06 - CONCACAF announced today that the inaugural Beach Soccer Championship (FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2006 ? Qualifier Costa Rica) will take place at Punta Leona in Puntarenas, Costa Rica from 13-17 September.
The CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship, that will also qualify two CONCACAF teams to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2006 taking place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from 2-12 November, consists of five teams (Canada, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Mexico and USA).
The CONCACAF tournament will be played in round-robin format with doubleheader encounters on each of the five match dates. The champion and runner-up from the final round standings will progress to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2006.
Further information on the kick-off times for the CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship in Costa Rica will be announced shortly.
