CD Olímpia awarded forfeit win in Central Zone Qualification First-Leg
30.8.06 - Honduras? CD Olímpia were awarded today a 3:0 forfeit win over the host, Diriangen FC of Nicaragua in the first-leg of Series H of the Central American Qualification (Torneo Interclubes de UNCAF 2006) to the 2007 CONCACAF Champions? Cup?.
CD Olímpia had won the Series H opener a week ago but now
receives a forfeit victory instead after Diriangen FC fielded an ineligible player in the 2:1 loss at the Caciques Diriangen Stadium in Diriamba on 24 August.
CD Olímpia will now take a 3:0 edge into the Torneo Interclubes de UNCAF (Union Centroamericana de Fútbol) Series H on Wednesday when they greet Diriangen FC in the second-leg at the Tiburcio Carias Andino Stadium in Tegucigalpa.
Meanwhile in other second-leg match-ups on Wednesday, LD Alajuelense (CRC) will be defending their 1:0 Series A lead when they visit CD Vista Hermosa (SLV) at the Juan Francisco Barraza Stadium in San Miguel and then CD Victoria (HON) will host San Francisco FC (PAN) at the Ceibeños Stadium in La Ceiba with a 1:0 Series F lead.
The opening games of the UNCAF tournament quarterfinals are from 26-28 September with the return-legs set from 3-5 October.
The semifinal first-legs will take place on 24-25 October, with second-legs on 31 October ? 1 November.
The two finalists, who qualify directly to the 2007 CONCACAF Champions? Cup?, will compete for the Torneo Interclubes de UNCAF 2006 crown with first-leg on 22 November and the return-leg seven days later.
The two losing semifinalists will play a home-and-away third-place series (21 & 28 November) for the last Central American berth to the 2007 Champions? Cup.
The three Central American clubs will be joined by two teams each from Mexico and the USA along with one from the Caribbean at the 2007 CONCACAF Champions? Cup?.
