Sony Norde at only 17 is a good soccer player! He's our bright spot!

The rest are worthless, bad passing, bad decision making, poor ball control, just plain mediocre. No more excuses, no more illusion of greatness. There are good soccer players in Haiti but only one was on the field.

These players lack the basics, you can't really ask the coach to be a trainer when those players are already playing in the first division. It's tough to blame the coach. If this is the future of our Football, we have no future. This poor showing is a reflection of our low quality football structure. This is an embarrassement.

Solution: The clubs need to do a better job at teaching our young players the basics. We need trainers, not coaches to teach our youths the basic building blocks of the game. At U-20 there's still hope to salvage some of those youths.

Maybe they were using the loosing/resting strategy you described in the other thread?

I said it two days ago when i saw them play against USA ,Some siad i was to hard on them but as a player myself i know talent when i saw it and what they display the other day was not soccer , these guys (except for Norde)has no heart or the basics of the game like you said.anyway i wish the u-17 good luck in April .

But how could we pay these better trainers ? Why don't you work hard on candlesticks in order to make money to pay these guys ?

I would do even more than that for Haitian youths if I had the means. Training me in daytrading is a good cause. :-)

I think you guys are being a little too tough on the team. I saw the game against Panama and what I saw was individual talents, but no team concept. Being that the team didn't have much a preparation, that's to be expected. I truly think if these guy had even two month preparation they would have easily beaten Panama and qualify for the World Cup!

Defensively: On many occasions, it was as if they were waiting for Panama before they reacted to the ball and by then they were not fast enouh to get to it. The best example was the 2nd goal for Panama: The captain fell, by the time he recovered, he tackled the ball into another defender and the ball ended up in the net.

One thing we have to remember, we can sit here and judge these guys, but we don't even know how they eat. Besides Norde who is playing at Boca Jrs these guys are not making much money playing in Haiti. So, their problem could be something other than a lack of skills!

I wish they could have made it to the World Cup, because then they would have found some sponsorship and would have properly trainned between now and then! I still think the experience will serve them in the future!!
