Here is an interesting proposal on Sakapfet (by Toup). What do you guys think?

"My proposal:

Scope:

Raising money to support the development of our football.

Money will be raised by conducting fundraising, selling of related products like match tickets and t-shirts and by collecting member fees.

Here is how I think we can reach that goal:

1- We organize a fans club.

a) Members of the club pay a minimum of $5/month ($60/year).

b) Members can contribute more than the minimum $5/month. However, all members should be entitled to the same benefits (detailed below).

c) A fund (bank account) should be created in all transparency and the trusties (at least 3) of the fund should be chosen by the members of the club.

d) One member will be selected as the chairman of the club. That person will be responsible to initiate negociations/contacts with the FHF and other entities when necessary.

e) The chairman cannot be a trusty of the fund.

f) The trusties and the chairman (at least for the first 2 years) should be selected from the first group of members who join the club prior Haiti's first WCQ match. All those members will be seeded as 'senior members'. Everyone who joins the club after Haiti's first match will automatically become a 'senior member' after two consecutive years of membership.

g) The club will make direct contribution to the FHF, however the 'senior members' can decide in a vote to use the club fund to help resolve a specific problem like providing a foreign-based player with round-trip ticket or reward a player for his/her performance.

3) Club Meeting:

a) The chairman and the trusties will be required to keep the club members updated on their activities. I suggest they post those updates in the main forums: Sakapfet, Haitiwebs, Haitisports, and Haititfoot, and the FHF website when/if created.

b) It's not necessary that the club create its own website as it's better for all Haitians to see the club as the "Haitian Club" instead of just the club of a specific website. Thus, when a debate is called, I would suggest the club rotate between the main forums.

2) To receive our money, the FHF should accept to do the following:

a) FHF will make tickets for match in the US and Canada available to members of the club at a discounted price.

b) One member of the FHF will meet the club (via one of our forums) at least twice a year to discuss issues related to the development of our football.

Before we can talk about election, Let's determine and state our need and objective

For the committee we might need 6 people which means we have 6 positions to fill up.

Those positions:

Chairman - Treasurer - Secretary - 2 Subordinate Officers - A member from the FHF

and of course the senior members that we will not vote for

Chairman: shall be the president of the Fan club and shall have the general charge and supervision of the business and affairs of the fan club. He or She shall, also, have the authority to sign and execute in the name of the fan club all deeds, bonds, contracts or other instruments after an agreement with the committee and senior members.

Treasurer: shall be the Financial Officer. He or She shall have charge of and be responsible for all funds, securities, receipts and disbursement of the fan club, and shall deposit in the name of the fan club all monies or other valuable effects in such banks.

Secretary: shall assure the connection of all committees and shall be the source of information for the corporation. He or She is responsible for scheduling any meeting and for providing the purpose of the meeting.

Subordinate Officers: shall consist of individuals having to establish contact between the corporation and other businesses. They are responsible for the corporation activities, donation, fundraising,and advertising. For example: Marketing Officer, Public Relation Officer.

Member from FHF: He or she should provide a program for our national teams. In such way the committee will decide when and where to help.

After the election the elected committee should be able to establish the Bylaws of the fan club.

I like the idea in General but the demands to the FHF needs review.

a) No need for a discount, if Haiti is playing and I can make it to the game, I don't need a discount. In fact I would pay double if I was sure it would help the players.

- We need transparency and planning from the FHF. Meeting needs to be at a minimum quaterly.

Other than that the club need to define clear goals;

Direct monatary donations to the FHF is not advisable, it's also a headache to them. It's easier if the club did things like:

Pay for transportation and Hotels;

Buy and send training equipement;

Plane tickets,

Pay for a website for the FHF...

Panoramix I really like your revision of the proposal. One thing I would add if we have a lot of money available is to pay monthly membership for the team to a gym club. The players need professional indoor training too!

I support the idea as a whole, but am in favor of Pano's points. The biggest obstacle has to be transparency. The only way to keep everyone happy is to see where every penny is going and in order to have that happen, as Pano suggested, there cannot be monetary contributions directly to the FHF!

I went to sakapfet and some users requested a forum and election poll for the club. What will be the name of this club?

Toup: most of us belong to most of the main forums but are only active in one or two.

I understand that we'll define goals, rules and responsibilities once we have a thinking unit (board of trustees) but step 1 will be coming up with a name for this club within a few days. Make you the deadline, you'll need to take the lead until we have a board.

I am currently going through the main forums to read what other Haitian fans think about the club and collect new ideas.

I just spoke to haitiwebs and he showed me where we can hold our group and elections. Members will have to register and I will send them an invite to join the group. The group will be invitation only. Only members will be able to post in forum but others can read. If a poll is created within the group, only members will be able to vote.

Come up with a name and I'll send you the link and invite to the group.
