Delegates from 12 national associations within the Football Confederation recently attended a Caribbean Planning Workshop for the FIFA Goal Programme.
The nations with representatives at the workshop were: Antigua & Barbuda, Aruba, Bahamas, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Montserrat, Netherlands Antilles, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago and Turks & Caicos Islands.
Representatives of the National Associations of the Bahamas, Dominica, the Dominican Republic, Grenada, Suriname and Trinidad & Tobago all made presentations on their current developmental activity. In addition, workshops were held on marketing of football and creating a template for a strategic planning.
There were several decisions reached by those in attendance, most notably a creation of a four-year Strategic Development plan for each national association, which must be approved by the FIFA GOAL Development Office.
Also, a workshop for CFU nations not currently participating in GOAL will be organized so all of the countries in the region have a consistent approach to their development, and the Caribbean Football Union should create a similar strategic plan.
