Our national team played well to hold scoreless the Olympique Marseille team and their World Cup players almost through the first half. But at the 41st minute Fernandao went through our defense and served Sakho for the first goal. 4 minutes later Sakho scored the second goal with a header, on a cross by Dos Santos. At the 68th minute, Olembe through individual efforts went through the defense and served Belmadi for the third goal. The World Cup player for Marseille were Leboeuf, Van Buyten, Swierczewski and Olembe. Frank Leboeuf played the whole game and the others about 60 minutes.

The Haitian team is preparing for Gold Cup 2003, and will play two more games in France with Lavalle (2nd Division) and Montpellier (1st Division) before moving on to Italy. Haiti has had a long absence from the international soccer scene and is on a quest to qualify for the 2006 World Cup in Germany. The last and only World Cup appearance for Haiti was in 1974 in Germany(West). Although they've lost all their friendly games so far, the results only means that there's room for improvements. The experience gain on the field will bear fruits as long as the effort is sustained.
