Haiti U-20 selection will battle against USA U-20 on 11/13/2002 at 7:30 ET. Friday November 15 Haiti will face Canada and on Sunday November 17, El Salvador. The top two teams of this group will advance to the World Cup Under 20 in Saudi Arabia in 2003. The United States is the favorite to win this group and features MLS and European based players in their squad. At this level the second place of the group is up for grabs. Canada is expected to win the second place, but Haiti is renowned for causing upsets. This explains why the United States coach was in Haiti for the second leg 0:0 draw of Haiti Vs. Jamaica. The Haiti U-20 team has been training in Argentina where they played against the reserve of River Plate, one of Argentina?s most successful clubs with players like ? Ariel ?el Burrito? Ortega. Haiti U-20 managed to tie the River Plate reserves 2:2. There?s been a soccer movement in Haiti called ? Reve 2006? (Dream 2006), the goal is to qualify for World Cup 2006. In a country that stops every 4 years to watch the World Cup, such qualifications would bring tears of joy in the eyes of many. Our youngsters, the U-20 team are one phase away to qualifying for the U-20 World Cup, and if 2006 is just a dream now, WC U-20 2003 is right behind the door for us. The players need to know that we are watching from all over the World, our flags held tight against our chest and we thank them for getting this far.
