Violette Athletique Club, one of the most popular teams in Haiti, are in the last position of the Premiere Division table after the second day of the Championnat d?Ouverture. This weekend they will face the first place team in the table, Carioca. Carioca is coming from a decisive win over FICA while Violette A.C. was defeated by Cavaly last weekend. Carioca has never won a national championship, and Violette has not won the championship since 1999. Violette A.C. has invested heavily in recent years, acquiring Brazilian players and coaches. The Violette fans are very demanding and may feel that a Championship trophy is overdue. Maybe the fact that Violette?s jersey is blue a white stripes (Looks like Argentina), have some psychological effect on the Brazilian coach, Carlos Alberto Torres and the Brazilian players, but if Violette A.C start the season with three losses, the fans and sponsors will need some kind of explanation.

Last year the format of the Championnat National was changed to having a Championnat d?Ouverture (Jan-June) and a Championnat de Cloture (Aug-Nov).
This year Schedule 2003:
Ouverture: Jan 31-Jun 15
Clôture: Aug 1-Nov 24
