The schedule for the 2004 "Championnat" National d'Haiti (Ouverture and Fermeture) has not been announced. We've been reviewing the 2003 season in order to improve the game and we will make some changes this season, so pay attention. We have 50 registered players this season, last season only a handful participated. The game is still in its developmental stage and we hope the following steps will make it more interesting. To play sign up here:
http://www.haitiwebs.com/prosoccer/PredictionIndex.php , and predict on all 8 games of the week for the championnat National.
The most important change is that although the full schedule of the season will be available, the players will only be able to predict 3 weeks ahead of time. Every year since we?ve been covering Haitian league Football, the entire season (not one game in the week) has been delayed due to management issues. Last season we had a situation where the players had to predict games that would be played 6 to 8 weeks later. To prevent this from happening again, we will maintain only a three weeks lead time. The predictions are time sensitive, and the postponed season can be a hassle. If a couple games in a particular week, have been postponed due to unforeseeable events such as weather, political tension (although this should be foreseeable); the prediction deadline will remain the scheduled date and time. Once a player predicts a game the game will not be deleted and reposted even if the game is postponed.

One other issue, are the games that are played ahead of schedule (very rare but it happens). Last season FICA decided to stay in Port-au-Prince and play their next away game midweek instead of in the weekend. This provide an opportunity for the Haitiwebs players to know the scores ahead of the prediction deadline, if such an event should happen, the game will be thrown out. In the past the deadline to predict has been game day at noon, this deadline will remain. This year we will keep all the match data from last season in our database, and this information will be available to the players to help them make better predictions. The archived data is available now at: <
http://www.haitiwebs.com/football/consult/> . After careful analysis we decided to include the International game that Haiti plays as well! Last season the prediction game was exclusively for the Championnat National. The international games will have the same weight as the Championnat games, and will be considered as bonus points. Once the game starts, there will be no changes in the rules. Any changes will be implemented the following season, and suggestions will be posted on a poll on the Haitiwebs Football page. As of now, only bragging rights will be awarded to the Haitiwebs Prediction Champion, but this could change during the season.
Good Luck and have fun!
