Soccer Player Ricardo Pierre-Louis is a Two-Time All-American at Lee University
The honors keep pouring in for Ricardo Pierre-Louis and the Lee University men?s soccer team. Pierre-Louis was honored for the second straight year as a NAIA First Team All-American.
Pierre-Louis, a sophomore, earned the impressive award after scoring 33 goals, including six that won games for the Flames. He added 11 assists as well, including three in the first round match of the Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament. However, Pierre-Louis? most notable performance was a hat trick in Lee?s 3-0 victory over No. 1-ranked University of Auburn-Montgomery for the NAIA Region XIII Championship. In 2005, the talented forward from Leogane, Haiti was the first-ever First Team All-American.
Stanley Nyazamba, also a second-year Flame, was named to the All-American Second Team. Nyazamba had a team-leading 19 assists to go with six goals, while helping anchor a strong midfield unit. He collected three assists twice during the season, including a season-high five against Emmanuel College.
Erick Oduor, Joseph Connor, and Nick Odeny were tabbed as All-American Honorable Mentions. Oduor joined with Pierre-Louis to form a dangerous scoring combination for the Maroon and White, and finished his senior season with 20 goals, including three game-winners. Connor and Odeny played consistently strong defense for Lee, while contributing four assists apiece in the Flames high-powered offense. All five Lee standouts were also named the the NAIA All-Region XIII team

Comments "Ricardo had an outstanding season both for himself and the Flames. In his first season alone he broke the Flames single season record and was named Conference Newcomer of the Year as well as an NAIA All-American. Although he finished the season at 80% due to an injury, Ricardo was still able to score goals. He will be looking to hold that record or improve on it this season. Gifted with speed, power and explosiveness along with the ability to use both feet, Ricardo is a dangerous threat."
