Rumors abuzz - Paulo Wanchope

Add Spanish midfielder Ivan de la Pena, Dutch goalkeeper Ronald Waterreus and Costa Rican forward Paulo Wanchope to the Metro rumor mill.
De la Pena is no stranger to another potential Metro target, Ronaldo, the two being teammates in Barcelona earlier in their career. But the former Spanish international is currently settled at Espanyol, and looks to sign a new contract with his club.
Waterreus has been rumored to be coming to the US for years, and recently signed with AZ Alkmaar with a supposed MLS escape clause. While Metro is down to only one keeper with MLS experience, Jon Conway, the intelligence of using a senior international slot and a large salary on a keeper way past his prime is debatable.
Finally, there is Wanchope, the rumor that is called "legit" by Ives Galarcep. The Costa Rican striker is now in Argentina with Rosario Central after years in England and a stint in the Middle East, and has also been a rumored MLS target for years.
