Haitian Football captain Pierre Bruny: Monkey's (Trinidad) off our back

Haiti captain Pierre Bruny said that Trinidad and Tobago have been like a monkey on Haiti's back since the 1970s and it is a special feeling to win the Digicel Caribbean Cup in Trinidad.
Speaking following his team's 2-1 victory in the final on Tuesday at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Bruny pointed out that his country was once a dominant force in the region, but for a long time had to live in Trinidad and Tobago's shadow.
As a former Joe Public player, Bruny said he had a lot of respect for T&T football and had begged his Haitian teammates to give him a retirement gift by winning the Caribbean Cup in Trinidad and Tobago.
Bruny said he is likely to retire following Haiti's participation in the CONCACAF Gold Cup later this year in the United States.

Congratulation to the Haitian National Team for winning the 2007 Digicel Football Cup but I tottally disagree with Captain Bruny that the Monkey of Trinidad is off our back.
I beleived the NT has 3 mondey on their back. Cuba, Trinidad & Jamaica.
Trinidad squad that lost the Digicel Cup to Haiti use 6 players from College/University and 12 players from their club division. The majority of Trinidad squad play in Europe (England) and Trinidad Federation did not request for them to appear in Digicel Cup... But the majority of Trinidad Squad will be coming to United States in Gold Cup June 2007 ... To me - until you beat the real squad of Trinidad ...the monkey is still on your back ...Truth test to take the money of our back is to beat Trinidad Real Squad in June ...
Second, We still has not beaten Cuba & Jamaica ....Yeah, Jamaica did not qualified for the Digicel Cup but we did not beat them .....actuallity we lost to them 2-0 ...
and Cuba beat us in the qualifier 2-1 ...so that monkey is still on our back ...
Winning the Digicel Cup is big step for the NT --- It gives the team confidence but confidence & Reality - Two separate thing ..
