Jamaica, Guatemala to play Nov. 21 friendly
Tuesday, November 6, 2007
KINGSTON, Jamaica: Jamaica coach Bora Milutinovic will lead the Reggae Boyz in a Nov. 21 international friendly against Guatemala at the Caribbean island's National Stadium.
"The Reggae Boyz will play their first friendly international for a long time inside the National Stadium," said Horace Burrell, president of the Jamaica Football Federation.
Jamaica has not played at the stadium since a 1-1 draw with Panama in March. The squad has not played since a lopsided 8-1 loss to Iran in July.

Soccer JFF to meet with Bora

JFF to meet with Bora
Wednesday, 07 November 2007
The new board of the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) will meet with Bora Milutinovic, to inform him of their decision regarding his post as Technical Director.
The board of the JFF came to a unanimous decision at their first meeting on Tuesday since the voting congress on Sunday.
The JFF has yet to inform the public of their decision until they speak with coach Milutinovic.
RJR sports reported last month that Rene Simoes, who guided Jamaica to the 1998 world cup finals, was set to re-take the mantle of technical director, which would indicate the current contract with Bora would be terminated.
RJR sports has learnt Rene Simoes' contract with the Brazilian Seria 'B' side Coritiba is up at the end of the month.
The 2nd division club is aiming to advance to the Seria 'A' league in Brazil, and Simoes is set to earn a bonus should he be able to help the team advance.
It has not yet been ascertained who will be coach when Jamaica faces Guatemala on November 21st at the national stadium.

Jamaica fire coach Milutinovic, ending 4-year contract after 1 year
The Associated Press
Thursday, November 8, 2007
KINGSTON, Jamaica: Bora Milutinovic, who coached five teams to the World Cup finals, was fired as coach and technical director by the Jamaica Football Federation.
The JFF informed Serbian-born Milutinovic on Wednesday that it was sacking him for breach of contract.
A statement from the JFF on Thursday didn't elaborate on the breach, and calls to president Captain Horace Burrell and his executive were not returned.
Milutinovic took over as coach and technical director of Jamaica's soccer program last November, and led the team to the Lunar Cup title earlier this year. But Jamaica hasn't played since July and fallen in the FIFA world rankings to 103.
Milutinovic received a four-year contract, partially funded by the government.
"The federation has arranged to pay within what it believes to be a reasonable period of time from the date of the notice, the amount due to the technical director in accordance with the nature of his termination," the statement said.
