Soccer Football/Soccer - Jean Robens Jerome is back with Pittsburgh Riverhounds (USL) after playing in Moldova

HOUNDS SIGN THREE MORE FOLLOWING MINI-CAMP
Cherulin, Browne, Robens Return
Following this past weekend's mini-camp, the Pittsburgh Riverhounds have signed three more players; Romain Cherulin (pictured), Leon Browne, and Jean Robens all return from the 2006 squad pending federation approval.
Last season, Cherulin, a forward/midfielder, played for the Cincinnati Kings. Before coming to Pittsburgh in 2006, he played with Guegnon, a professional team in France, for four seasons. He was the MVP of the Garchizy French National Tournament in 2002. "Frenchy", as he is called by his teammates, is a native of Albuquerque, New Mexico, who began playing soccer when he was three. He moved to France to play soccer at age 13.
Browne, a forward, also returns to the Riverhounds. He previously played two years for Mercer County Community College, the two-time National Championship runner-up. He is from Trenton, New Jersey.
Jean Robens spent four seasons with the MetroStars Reserves before coming to Pittsburgh in 2006. Robens, a defender, was also a member of Haiti's 2003 under-21 national team and has also competed with the under-23 national team. He last played in Moldova for Tiligul Tiras.
Veteran Defenders and Duquesne University grads, Jason Kutney and Nathan Salsi, are already under contract for the 2008 campaign.
The Riverhounds open the regular season on April 19th at Cleveland. Their home debut is on May 3rd when they host the defending USL Second Division Champions, the Harrisburg City Islanders, at Chartiers Valley High School Stadium. This will be the Hounds' first year at this new venue under their new ownership.

HOUNDS - HAMMERHEADS TIE 1-1
Pittsburgh's MacKenzie Scores First - But Wilmington Answers Shorthanded
Travis MacKenzie blasted a bouncer looped in on a free kick from Jean Robens Jerome in the 27th minute to get Pittsburgh on the scoreboard first. Despite playing a man down because of an ejection, Wilmington shocked the Hounds when Jon Burklo rocketed home a goal from about 35 yards out in the 58th minute to tie it 1-1. The Riverhounds, still winless in their return to the United Soccer Leagues Second Division, next play the Rochester Raging Rhinos in the second round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Tournament on Tuesday night in New York.
