Soccer Football/Soccer - Haitian National Team report card : C--

GK:
Gabart has improved on his decision making and has a lot of experience. I also prefer Placide because he's had good training and shows leadership in goal. He stood and fought 4 to 5 Mexicans by himself because his defenders did not sprint back and abandonned him. He's a true Grenadier. At that Olympique level for a defense to play like that against Mexico two things should have happened.
1) It should be the last game for this coach at any level.
2) It should the last game for those defenders who chose to walk back on international television and left Placide stranded in goal.
DEF:
Bruny has no place in the NT. He has good positioning and he's very experienced but he lacks speed and judgement. To many unnecessary pushes with the arm that resulted in red cards for him and left us with 10 men.
Defenders: P Jean-Jacques, F. Gilles, J. Mayard, F. Bertin, J. Aveska, L. Felinga, Allain Vubert, Olrish Sorel
Wingers:
Brunel and Tiga are worthless on the wings. Neither of them can take a good cross. This is Haiti's greatest weakness. When we play against weaker opponents and they bunch up in the middle we don't have quality wingers who can send dangerous balls from the wings.
I've only seen one true haitian winger, Charles "Blansolo" Herold Jr. Just go back and look at the U-17 world cup games. He sends accurate long passes and crosses. There might be others and this is one area we have to improve on.
Defensive Midfielder:
We've been decent in the pass in that area, we're generaly good at getting the ball back and keeping possession, even against good teams.
Mones Chery, Peterson Joeph, James Marcelin, Peter Germain, Serge Louis, Alain Vubert (def or def-mid) Panel Guerrier.
Offensive Midfielder:
We're not that far off but we need to change our technical players mindset to improve in this area. We have 3 seriously techinical players who can control the ball, dribble and open up the field and draw up 2 or three defenders.
Alcenat Jean Sony
Allexandre Boucicot
Fabrice Noel
Neither of them can take accurate long shots (we need to improve on that) from outside the box, so they need to think about spreading it wide to the wingers or threading it to the forwards. Instead they run head down towards goal, close-up space and take one dribble too many. Those players have rare technical skills but without game vision it amounts to nothing. Creating chances is as important at scoring goals. All three could make decent withdrawn forwards.
Strikers:
Peguero is the one but he's seriously injured. Cadet is inconsistent and will waste away if he doesn't make efforts to stay in shape, improve his shooting and come out and play. There are stikers like Bridece Azor who will draw up attention and free up a teammate with a one touch pass, When Cadet get's closed up he needs to do the same. Finishing and long shots needs to improve. Our strikers also need to have the instinct, shoot first and ask questions later. It takes one to two seconds to unleash a shot so let's take them and practice our finishing to get them on target. If you're killing birds with your shots, don't take long shots but if you're putting three out of 4 in the upper 90 in practice go ahead.
E.Cadet, Lionel St-Preux, Fritsson Jean-Baptiste, Bridece Azor, Ricardo Pierre-Louis, Jerod Laventure
Coaching Staff:
I don't see a system set in place for our players. Even weaker Netherland Antilles had a visible game plan that was very effective. Haiti was playing a series of dead end short passes and running and dribbling too much with the ball and getting closed down. This display only showed that we had better skilled players but not a better team. We tackled and got the ball back when we wanted to, we made countless successful dribbles, but our passing was short sighted our positioning was not set to take advantage of our speed superiority and we played with no game vision and creativity. Eloi is the head coach and we want to se "Eloi Football" in the next game. He reacted well after the first game and wants to improve.

Great comments! what about all those guys that did not present theirselves for this round? Desmarest, Jaggy, the young kid playing in Standard de liege etc. I remembered reading about so many players from Europe who were willing to help Eloi. Where are they? We won't be able to compete with Costa Rica, Surinam and el Salvador. If you guys go to Fifa.com, there is a vote regarding the most surprising team. Two of the teams in our group are in that pole. Salvador and Suriname. Nou nan chaud ti messieurs!
Which team impressed the most in the month of June in 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ qualifying?
  • Nigeria
  • Qatar
  • Suriname
  • New Caledonia
  • Chile

I hope Eloi can build his team and get the key players that are needed for us to pass the 3rd round. Some players need to be re-oriented and repositioned and we need some new faces. I'm 100% behing Eloi and this team but I'm asking for better football. We should be able to finish 2nd in this group, let's hope the right Haitian National Team shows up.

tired

i am sick and tired of you people, nou toujou ap kritike bruny sanble nou bliye ke bruny se rezon nou la kounye a. se pa pou san rezon ke yo te vote neg la meyè jwè karayib la.
mwen dako li pa gen vitès, men antan ke yon defansè santral, li gen bon plasman, ajilite epi li solid. SI nou te konn dessally, song, baresi na wè ke sa mwen di a se bon bagay. Bruny se yon lejand, ankouraje neg la

I used to pick on Brunei also as well, i don't think he is the problem. We need to work on the goal scoring. No one is scoring for the national team. Too bad Peguero is not present.

monche bruny fe konnen ke le gen yon moun ki ka pran plas li l'ap pran retret li. Neg la se pou lanmou peyi'l l'ap jwe, li se meye jwe seleksyon an gen la kounye ya. sa pou nou fe se pou nou mete yon moun ak vites deye a ak bruny, paske 1 a 1 bruny pap gen problem ak kelkeswa advese a. we also have to use ricardo pierre louis on front, the man is fast, stong and was name all american 3 times in a row because he is a strikeer
