Good news guys! I have to admit that Brunei brings confindence to the troup. I remember talking to Descollines 6 years ago in NY, he said every single player in the national feels safe when Brunei is in. GUYS, we are Playing FIVE DAYS! Do we Have the LIST OF THE PLAYERS WHO WERE CALLED?

GLEN DOUBLE PACES T&T TO 3-1 WIN OVER EL SALVADOR   Trinidad and Tobago pulled off a courageous 3-1 victory over El Salvador front of an estimated 25,000 fans at the RFK Stadium, Washington on Thursday night.
A pair of goals by Cornell Glen (18th and 80th) and another by second half substitute Anthony Wolfe in the 75h minute did the job for the "Soca Warriors". El Salvador equalized through Cristian Castillo in the 31st minute. Both teams finished the match with ten men with Cyd Gray being red carded for head butting El Salvador captain Alfredo Pacheco in the 60th.
Pacheco was also given marching orders for elbowing Gray. Pacheco's teammate Luis Anaya, subbed earlier on was ejected aswell from the bench for violent conduct. The match stopped for close to six minutes after players and officials got involved in a heated altercation forcing security officials to enter the field. The El Salvadorian fans also began launching plastic bottles at the T&T bench. Wolfe and Glen would later put T&T in control of the encounter. T&T departs for Cuba on Friday morning for Wednesday's 2010 World Cup qualifier.

Guys, a friend of mine that saw the game played in Haiti between Haiti and Trinidad told me that Haiti Played an excellent game. He was very impressed and this guy knows the game very well! Who else saw that game? I need your impressions.

Using the game as a warm-up for the upcoming 2010 World Cup qualifier against Cuba the “Soca Warriors” would have considered themselves coming away with a handy exercise as the Haitians were intense and tested skipper Cyd Gray and his teammates for long periods. T&T though, never buckled and enjoyed a strong second half display which forced several heated moments between the two sides as the Haitians fought to maintain their slim advantage as the match progressed.
Unlike the first friendly in Trinidad which T&T won 2-0 where the Haitians made the better start, it was T&T who turned on the heat and should have scored as early as the second minute. A perfect ball from the right by Cornel Glen sent Khaleem Hyland on clear path to goal but he could only hit it straight at the advancing goalie Fenelon Gabard.
T&T once again used the 4-5-1 system with Glen alone up top and as T&T absorbed the Haitian assault on its side of the park, the odd break going forward lacked the right service for Glen to cause any problems for the hosts back line. This also saw Haiti enjoying larger portions of possession in the opening forty-five.
On ten minutes Germain Peter had a good try for the home team, sending his effort over bar from the edge of the penalty area and eight minutes later his shot barely missed the upright.
T&T goalie Marvin Phillips was called into action on 33 minutes, having to dive full stretch to his left to push out Fucien Brunnel’s header. The W Connection custodian would later be called on to make a few more interventions to keep the scores level at the break.But he could do little to stop Brunel’s glancing header from entering the net from close range.
 Gray’s patience had earlier ran out in the 35th and he was cautioned for arguing a call with Haitian referee Resnyck Grant. The defender would later be given marching orders for a late foul leaving T&T to play the closing ten minutes with ten men. The game was overseen by five Haitian officials including Resnyck as well as the fourth official and match commissioner and was the subject of debate for much of the encounter as several calls against T&T appeared questionable while some never came. There was one particular moment of chaos in the 71st minute when after Phillip provided some acrobatics to deny a Haiti attempt on goal, Resnyck saw his assistant’s flag on the far side go up and waved for a goal which caused an uproar among the T&T players and bench staff. Fortunately the referee consulted with his assistant to find out he had signaled for offside.
T&T at that period had picked up their pace was mounting much of the attack on the Haitian penalty box and a second goal would have spoilt their fight. The hosts would hold on to the lead though.
The visitors had begun putting a few more consecutive passes together and the introduction of Keon Daniel at the start of the second half saw a couple dangerous balls coming into the Haitian box.
Aklie Edwards had a low drive well saved and then substitute Andre Toussaint did all the hard work to hold off two defenders and gain control of a Densill Theobald serve, only to drag his effort wide of the upright from well inside the area
Not a polished performance but certainly a stiff test for Maturana’s men as they continue their fine tuning for Cuba.
The team arrives in Washington on Tuesday evening for another friendly against El Salvador on Thursday at the RFK Stadium.

Environ 11 000 spectateurs ont assisté à la première grande prestation de l'équipe haïtienne depuis le début de l'ère Eloi. Du caractère, de l'animation et surtout des occasions de buts plus ou moins proches de l'attente des fans : c'est ce que la formation un peu expérimentale qu'il a alignée a pu réussir pour obtenir une seconde victoire aux dépens des Trinitéens lors de la 5e confrontation des deux équipes depuis janvier 2007. Une victoire que conteste encore l'assistant chef de délégation de l'équipe trinidadienne.

Pour commencer la conférence de presse, l'assistant chef de délégation avait mentionné le fait que l'arbitrage n'était pas neutre vu qu'il était assuré par des Haïtiens. Il a reconnu ensuite avoir mentionné ce fait par principe reconnaissant tout comme son capitaine que sur cette rencontre l'équipe haïtienne était supérieure à son homologue trinitéenne. Cyd Grey a d'ailleurs souhaité bonne chance pour la suite dans les éliminatoires de la Coupe du Monde.
Alors que Maturana alignait une formation composée de : Marvin Phililips dans les buts - Aklie Edwards, Keyeno Thomas, Makan Hislop, Cyd Gray en défense - Anthony Wolfe, Kerry Baptiste, Cornell Glen et Khatleen Hyland au milieu - Clyde Leon et Densil Theobald en attaque pour tenter de rééditer sa victoire (2-0) du 31 juillet dernier.
Côté haïtien, Wagneau Eloi qui effectuait sa 6e sortie à la tête de la sélection nationale, alignait une formation un peu inédite pour le peuple haïtien avec une défense centrale composée du milieu récupérateur Alain Vuibert reconverti stoppeur droit et de Jérôme Meshack avec Jean Sony Alcénat au poste de latéral droit et Frantz Gilles au poste de latéral gauche. Au milieu, il a tout simplement mis quatre milieux récupérateurs de métier avec Monès Chéry et Markorel Sampeur en retrait, Peter Germain et Peterson Joseph à gauche et à droite alors que Brunel Fucien et Leonel Saint-Preux formaient la paire d'attaquants.
On s'attendait alors à ce que cette équipe soit ultra défensive et pourtant ce sont les Haïtiens qui firent le jeu. Elle s'est procuré une quantité incalculable d'occasions de buts en première période ponctuée de sept corners sans pour autant trouver la faille dans la défense trinitéenne. En seconde période, Wagneau Eloi s'apprêtait même à venir montrer la voie aux attaquants quand suite à un corner (8e de la partie)combiné entre Monès Chéry et Peter Germain, le pied gauche de ce dernier trouve Brunel Fucien qui d'une tête essuyée trompe Phillips pour l'ouverture du score. Haïti mène (1-0) sous les applaudissements nourris des spectateurs.
Haïti aurait pu légitimement terminer la partie sur un score plus lourd vu qu'à la suite d'un cafouillage, elle a inscrit un second but refusé par l'arbitre assistant pour une petite poussette sur le portier trinidadien. L'expulsion du capitaine Cyd Grey à quelques minutes de la fin de la partie pour une faute en tant que dernier défenseur sur Alexandre Bourcicaut a du compliquer la tache aux « Soca Warriors ». Cependant rien ne changera réellement la physionomie de la rencontre jusqu'au coup de sifflet final de l'arbitre Rosnick Grant. Haïti obtient sa 2e victoire depuis le début de l'ère Wagneau mais c'est surtout la première victoire obtenue avec la manière, de quoi renouer avec le public chauvin du stade Sylvio Cator, une semaine et demie avant l'arrivée du Surinam pour la première rencontre des Grenadiers comptant pour le 3e tour des éliminatoires de la Coupe du Monde Sud Africaine.
