We made it very easy for you to post with an image. Basically there are 3 ways:
1- If you have pictures that are in the gallery, click on the "open" link below the smilies, a popup will appear to show all your available images; simply click on the image you want to insert.
2-If you know html a tiny bit, click on the image link in the editor's toolbar (the line that starts with
B). A dialog box will open; simply put in the http:// address of the picture you wish to insert. (We do not encourage that method for three reasons: A- It is called hot linking and that is stealing bandwidth from the site where that image is located. B-If for any reason that site is down, your image will be broken. C-If the site is slow, then the request will be slow causing your page to load very slowly).
3-Finally,
the easiest way to place a picture is to upload it from your PC into the site. Below the editor (below the "Submit New Thread" button), you have a lot of additional options. If you don't see them, click on the arrow at the extreme right of "Additional Options". Then select "Manage attachments". A new window will open and you will be able to upload from one to three images at the time. That method is preferred because it will resize yor picture for you automatically, and will place it nicely in your post after you submit. For an image to display, it must be a jpg, otherwise it will display a link to image. The reason is because we are using something called GD to resize and manipulate images. GD is very powerful, but due to copyrights issues, it cannot handle the gif format. But who cares about that? Pictures are nice only in jpg (or png) formats. A gif picture will be distorted and loose on sharpness. For gif and other formats we have other options else elsewhere on the site, called ImageMagick and netpbm, but that is another story.
