That's too bad the inventors of PHP and Mysql were not Haitians. Those two are very suceptible about accents. Had they been Haitians, I am sure that accents would have been allowed.
Lately, forums have been unusually slow. I just found out that this was being caused by the addition of a bunch of Haitian songs in the database to have them automatically linked to music whenever those titles are typed.
I am usually very careful about what I insert in database, being aware of the fact that accents aigus, graves, circonflexes, tremas, apostrophe etc... are considered illegal characters in core programming.
But lately I have been very busy and rather not to take care of the site, I wrote a little program to auto insert those songs in database by themselves. Everything was smooth for a while, until some songs with apostrophe etc... (ban'm ....-those need to be escaped, like Ban\'m) made their way in database. And everytime a thread needed to display, the program was basically struggling to do so until it started to spit out error messages.
I've just deleted a bunch of those autolinks (not the songs themselves) and things seem to be reasonably fast again.
So, since I am not around anymore as often as I wish, please drop me a mail if you are still experiencing problems.
Thank you.
