Representatives from Haiti along with 17 Football Confederation members will attend the first-ever England F.A. International Coaching License course. The course will begin Saturday 16 March 2002 at the Dr. João Havelange Centre of Excellence in Tunapuna, Trinidad. Haiti presence in this programme solidifies the Haitian football officials goals for the 2006 World Cup qualifications. One fact for the supersticious : the 2006 World Cup most likely will be held in Germany and Haiti's only World Cup appearance was in 1974 in West Germany.
"The F.A. International Coaching License is one of the more prestigious coaching certificates in international football and is the equivalent to the UEFA ?B? License. The course will last 10 days and will be conducted by long-time F.A. instructors Michael Hennington and Henry Millington, who have led numerous similar programmes for the English FA around the world.
The following national associations will be represented: Haiti, Mexico, Jamaica, Honduras, U.S. Virgin Islands, Antigua & Barbuda, Dominica, Panama, Cayman Islands, Barbados, St. Kitts & Nevis, Guyana, St. Lucia, British Virgin Islands, Bahamas, St. Vincent & Grenadines and Trinidad & Tobago.
The course is part of an agreement which began in 2001 between the England F.A. and the Football Confederation to work together to promote the development of football within the Confederation.
Two workshops for football administrators and senior coaches were conducted last year as part of this agreement. In May 2001, a marketing workshop attracted 56 participants and in December, a strategic planning workshop drew 44 senior coaches from all over the Confederation."
